& Friends

Ken “Professor” Philmore has performed and recorded with a number of international artistes such as
Tito Puente, Ella Fitzgerald, Tina Turner, Andy Narrell, Lionel Hampton and the Duke Ellington
Orchestra.  To date, his outstanding live performances continues unabated – Washington DC Pan Jazz

Festival, St. Croix Jazz Festival, Atlanta Jazz Festival, Barbados Jazz Festivals, Tobago

9 Jazz Festival, Guyana Music Festival, among many others.

XAV I E R

STRINGS

Xavier Strings is a high energy band from the shores of Trinidad & Tobago that explores the versatility

of the Violin and Viola with modern electronic instruments – keyboard, guitars and drum and bass. At

its core, are sisters Janine and Janelle Xavier – two experienced and versatile Violinists, Violists and

Vocalists. These improvisational specialists have performed in Europe and across the Caribbean, in a

range of Jazz, Classical, Caribbean and fusion musical ensembles and as soloists.

PASTORA

World-renowned parang band, La Divina Pastora was formed in 1973 by Daisy Voisin, the “Queen of
Parang” in Siparia, Trinidad. The following year, the band emerged winner at the National Parang
Festival of Trinidad and Tobago. During the years, the band has changed and grown and though Voisin
has passed on, the band has kept the legacy of parang alive!

DURANTY

Collis Duranty is a talented singer hailing from South Trinidad and has been on our local music scene
for over 16 years. His sound is a unique mix of world music, neo-soul, gospel, calypso and reggae. He
has several releases including the moving song “Red, White and Black”, “Riverstone” and
“When you know it’s Love” on the Sea Lots Riddim all written by Collis Duranty.

JEREMIAH

Kadija Jelisa Jeremiah is a gifted songstress from the village of Santa Flora located in the southern
region of Trinidad. She was  a vocalist in the Prime Minister’s Band, Divine Echoes and has graced
numerous stages locally, performing with artistes such as The Mighty Sparrow, Shadow, CroCro, Kernal
Roberts, Erphaan Alves, Chucky and Destra.
