What is Factual Report?
Factual Report is a text that explains and
elaborates some factual information relate
to particular objects, matter or things
which are based on empirical, real and/or
scientific facts or information.

1. Presenting something.
Factual Report serves to present something in the form of
seminars, promotions, workshops, training, performance
reports, research reports, etc. When people present something,
it will usually always be accompanied by data, facts and
scientific steps. Evidence is very necessary in presenting
something because it will affect the level of trust of those who
read or hear it. For example about natural phenomenon

2. Explaining about Facts of Something
The main function of a factual report is to explain facts about something. Usually
he explains thoroughly. Things that can be explained with a factual report are
things that come from nature or are man-made. here is an example of the text:
Example :
"Cat is an animal that includes in one of the felidae family, just like Tiger and lion.
Cat is also a mammal animal so it gives birth to its Children and feeds them Milk.
It can live until more than 12 years. There are many kinds of cat that have been
known in this World. the cat that we often meet is domestic cat but the most
favorite kinds are persian cat and angora cat because their beautiful fur."

3. Support in Scientific Work Apart from these functions.
Factual reports can also be used as a support in scientific work.
This is because in scientific work many factual reports are
needed to support our hypotheses or scientific conjectures.
The following is an example of a factual report as a support in a
scientific work.

The General Structure of Factual Report Text consists of :
1. General Classification / General Statement
a. Statement that describe the common subject of report,
common description, classification and also general
statement of what being focused to be reported.
b. Describes the phenomenon in general

a. Bundles of specific information, give us the elaboration of
general information
b. Describe the phenomenon in details, in terms of parts (and
their function), qualities and habit or behaviour
