The reason it started

The reason for starting the Battle of the
Khandaq (Trench) was to protect Madinah

from the attack that was led by Banu
Qaynuqa and Nazir tribes who were in

alliance with the Quraish tribe.

Who is Salman Al Farisi

Salman Al Farisi is a friend of the
Prophet Muhammad who comes from
Persia. From his native land, he had a

lot of experience in war tactics and
strategy.

HISTORY

The event began a year after the
Battle of Uhud in the 5th year of

the Hijri when the infidel
Quraish gathered strength to
destroy the Muslims in Medina.

The Quraysh disbelievers
conspired with Bani Sualim,
Kinanah, the people of Tihamah
and Al-Ahabis. They called a
meeting in Marru Dzahraan,

about 40 kilometers from
Makkah, to carry out a massive

attack.

Then a group of Jews went to meet the
tribe of Gatafan and called them to join.

Finally the Gatafan tribe fulfilled their
call. So the Quraish left with a force
consisting of Abyssinians and their
followers. Their commander is Abu

Sufyan alias Sakhr ibnu Harb, while the
commander of the Gatafan people is

Uyaynah ibnu Hisn ibnu Badr. The total
number of allied forces almost reached

10,000 personnel.

Muslim know that the enemy
want to attack muslim,

Yassin verse 82:

‫ِإذا َقض ‏ى َأْم رًا َفِإَّنما َيُقوُل َلُه ُكْن َفَيُكوُن‬

Battle of Trench took place
in 5 AH. It started in the last

week of Shawwal and
continued till Ramadan.

When Prophet Muhammad
PBUH came to know that
Muslim women and children
are being attacked in the
south, he sent the army to
protect them, which also
defeated the Banu Qurayaza

there.

Masjid Fatah was the place
where Prophet PBUH prayed
to Allah to defeat the enemy

forces.
