ABOUT SBCF

Subic Bay Community of Faith started in the summer of 2010 when a vision of church planting in
Subic Bay Freeport Zone was laid in the hearts of John Phillip and Mei Chua Chiaco. On
Sepiember 25, 2010, thirty-five people mei for the first worship service with Rev. Noel Panioja,
assisted by his loving wife Jenny Pantoja serving as the Lead Pastor/Church Planter of the team.
A year later, Rev. Maurice Adam Rivera was called io continue the spiritual leadership of SBCF.

While the church over the years continued to participate in numerous community-based
ministries such as outreaches, medical missions, church planting, fellowship groups, ministering
to the ministers, and other similar activities, ihe Lord steered the leadership of His Church to
prioritize discipleship and focus on the internal growth of those called to SBCF. Through His
leading and voice, the mission of SBCF became clear: to Develop Dynamic Disciples by leading
others to cultivate their inner life through Christ Jesus.

Today, SBCF continues to champion the call to Christian authenticity by prioritizing our own

relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We encourage people of all ages and

thebackgrounds to come and experience joy and resteciness only Christ can bring. Worship with

us, and come as you are! Welcome io the SBCF family!

OUR 2019 THEME: “BUILDING DEEP”

“But each one should be careful how he builds, For no one can lay any foundation

other than the one already laid which is Jesus Christ.” (4 Corinthians 3:10-11)
One of the biggest challenges Christianity faces today is the problem of superficiality. Ministries are being built on the
foundation of competence and skill rather than in complete trust and surrender to the Lordship of Christ. The focus is
lost and the “doing” is viewed as more important than the “being” Our time spent with Christ is lost in the endless
buzzing of works that need to be completed, all in the name of Christ, This results in Christians merely going through the
motions of Christianity, severely lacking spiritual. depth and maturity,
The solution to this problem is a commitment to prioritize getting to know Christ above all other things in life. It is
addressed through the genuine desire, follow-through of, and devotion to the studying and understanding of the Word
of God. It is this solid foundation of Christ and the intimate relationship with Him that stabilizes our Christian walk and
prevents collapse,
With that said, our theme for 2019 is “BUILDING DEEP”. Building Deep is not about skills or strategy on how to grow the
church, nor is it a guide on how to complete missions for God more efficiently, Building Deep is all about our discipleship
journey, focused on deepening our relationship with Christ. It is about strengthening our “being” and learning what it
truly means to be founded on Christ Jesus. Let us discover the deep things about God. Let us face the challenge to

nourish our inner lives and Let that dictate the breadth of our ministry. Let us continue our spiritual journey together and

focus our 2019 towards Building Deep!

SERMON OUTLINE:

AV) TOO) HO

Rev. Joshua Pantoja / September 15, 2019 / Hebrews 4:12-13

This morning, | wish to incorporate exhortations from the Bible and share a testimony about the
recent development in our ministry — and how the Spirit of God uses the Scripture as our guiding
tool as we walk with Jesus daily.

“For the word of God is alive, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to
the division of soul and spirit, ofjoints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intents of the
heart. There is no creature that is not revealed in His sight, for all things are bare and exposed to the

eyes of Him to whom we must give account."

(Hebrews 4:12-13)

|. THE WORD OF GOD IS .

". is alive, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword."

ll. THE WORD OF GOD IS .

". piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and able to judge the
thoughts and intents of the heart...”

lll. THE WORD OF GOD IS .

“. all things are bare and exposed to the eyes of Him.."

CONCLUSION: When the Word of God is hidden in your heart, you will grow in your walk with Him,
you will grow in your prayer life.. you will experience Life, Light and grow in Hope.
