TO DRESS IN THE
CORPORATE WORLD
To dress is to portray. Clothing has always been
one of the most essential element of 'first
impression' in the corporate world and thus in
many companies how you dress is critical. Many
companies these days grant their employees the freedom
to dress in casuals and according to their comfort. But for
many companies a proper
dress code for business is
mandatory.
What to
dress?
Males mainly dress in

Does colour matter?
Yes, when it comes to business attires colour does
matter. Neutral colours such as khaki, grey,
white, ivory are considered the best. Black is the
colour of civility. Bright colours should be avoided.

DRESS PANTS OR SKIRTS?
Pair your top with black or navy slacks or a pencil
skirt (knee length or longer) that have been ironed.
If you’re wearing a button-down shirt, you may
want to tuck it into your pants or skirt for a polished look.
It’s also acceptable to wear khaki or cotton pants, as long
as they look professional. Information source: https://www.indeed.com/career-

A Blazer over a knee length dress gives a touch of
professionalism too.

What is business casual?
Although it doesn’t have a strict definition,
business casual generally means dressing
professionally without being overly formal. It’s a
step up from jeans and a t-shirt but a step down from
formal business attire. It’s often a company’s default
dress code and one that is a smart option for job
interviews in nearly every industry.
