4.0 DATA COLLECTION INSTRUMENTS RELATED TO TASKS 4.1 OBSERVATION One of the suitable methods to collect a lot of data related to tasks is observation. Based on the observation method, I have collected and gained new knowledge and experience. Through my observation, I can conclude that the school has a lot of useful infrastructures according to the pupil’s needs. The school is providing the best infrastructures to fulfil the pupil’s comfort. Moreover, it also creates a comfortable learning environment for the pupils. Other than that, the school landscape is very beautiful and very clean. The school is decorated with beautiful trees and flowers around the school and has a flower garden and gazebo in that garden. 4.2 CHECKLIST Other than that, I also use a checklist method in data collection. This method is used to gain additional information about the school’s facilities. I also attached the checklist form in order to know the facilities available in the school. By doing this, I can identify which facilities are used by the pupils and teachers. 4.3 INTERIEW Plus, I use an interview method to collect more details about the school’s information. I have interviewed several teachers, school administration and pupils. While conducting the interview, I prepared some questions for each respondent according to their specialist. On top of that, I have recorded their responses in the collaboration form and attached it in this portfolio. I can conclude that all the respondents are really helpful and give a lot of cooperation when I ask them a few questions. Besides, their answers are really understandable and even the main factor to help me in completing this task. 4.4 SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE Lastly, I also use a survey questionnaire method in collecting data related to the tasks. Through this method, I can know the pupil’s interest in learning. This makes me know their preferable way to learn and what makes them love that way. This method helps me to understand them better. For example, I know that they are attracted to learn when teachers give them rewards after successfully achieving

something. I also prepared a few questions in the survey form to collect the information and I attached the form in this portfolio. 6.0 NEW KNOWLEDGE/ INFORMATION THROUGH 6.1 Observation Through observation, I gained new knowledge and new experiences at school. The school surrounding is very beautiful and I really love the mini studio at the school. The mini studio is used to take a formal picture or do a video because it has a green screen there. Next, I have gained some knowledge about class management during the teaching and learning process. Teacher plays a big role in managing the class by handling the pupils and conducting the lesson at the same time successfully. It is normal when the class can be quite noisy and difficult to manage as they are kids, but an effective class management will help the teacher to control the class. For example, teachers try to attract the pupil’s attention by using a strategy. When the teacher says ‘a’, the pupils will say ‘a, e, I, o, u’. After that, the pupils are quiet and pay attention to the teacher’s words. This strategy is helpful to keep the engagement of the pupils in the class. 6.2 Interview 1. Information from senior assistant of administration I got a lot of knowledge related to the curriculum management when I interviewed senior assistant of administration, Cikgu Zamri Bin Zainal. First of all, I got to know his scope of work where he needs to take care of the school management and curriculum management. For example, he needs to handle each subject committee, class schedule and substitute teacher schedule. This shows that he has a lot of work related to school staff, pupils and teachers. Other than that, I got to know about the Pentaksiran Bilik Darjah (PBD) carried out in school. PBD is an assessment conducted throughout the teaching and learning process. This assessment is used to evaluate the students and to keep their achievement so that it always goes up. There are six levels of assessment in PBD. The lowest level is level 1 and the highest is level six. The student’s progress can differ from before. That is why teachers need to always check the student’s progress and achievement during class.

Plus, I got to know the Standard Kualiti Pendidikan Malaysia Gelombang 2 (SKPMG2). SKPMG2 is a guideline for teachers and administration to focus on the quality of education. There are six instruments that need to be emphasized. Instruments one to four is more to motivators in carrying out leadership duties in schools while instruments five and six is more to teachers as a facilitator in the teaching and learning process. I also got to know the Transformasi Sekolah 2025 (TS25) where SK Bakri Batu 5 is now in the last cohort which is cohort 6. TS25 is a KPM's effort towards improving the quality of students and schools by applying best practices in the implementation of management and leadership. There are six goals of this program. The first one is related to leadership which is more focused on administration. Secondly, maximizing the potential of teachers and students through improving the quality of teaching and learning (PdP) to improve the quality of teaching and learning. And the last one is to strengthen the involvement of parents and communities of student's success. For example, Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru (PIBG) was held at Dewan Bestari at SK Bakri Batu 5 on 17th June 2023. From what I see, a lot of parents are willing to sacrifice their time to attend the PIBG. 2. Information from senior assistant of student affair I got new knowledge from a senior assistant of student affair, Cikgu Dermata’siah Binti Atan related more to students. Firstly, I got to know there are students who got Rancangan Makanan Tambahan (RMT). Usually, this RMT program is suitable for students who have low income families. The students will have free food during recess and they need to eat the food to avoid wasting. Other than that, the same goes to RMT, Kumpulan Wang Amanah Pelajar Miskin (KWAMP) is also an initiative to help students from low income families. For example, they will get a new uniform every year before school begins. By doing this, it can ease some of the burden borne by the student's family. Furthermore, Cikgu Dermata’siah also tells about the attendance of the students in the school. I can conclude that students are interested in coming to school if the school has an activity. She said that the percentage of attendance will increase when there is activity in the school. For example, on 11th to 14th June, the percentage of attendance reached 90 percent because they are having cross country training and cross country

championships. So, increasing activities related to learning are often held to attract students to come to school to seek knowledge. Lastly, the school also uses the initiative from the Minister of Education which is "Anak Baik lagi Cerdik”. The objective of the programme is to ensure the building of character closely related to discipline and manners. Plus, teachers are needed to inculcate good values and show good examples to students. 3. Information from senior assistant of Co-curricular activities. I got to know more about co-curricular activities from senior assistant of Cocurricular activities, Cikgu Nasrul Bin Mohd Nasrul. Firstly, I got to know that curricular activities are carried out alternately according to the week designated, which is clubs and associations, uniformed units and sports and games. For clubs and associations, the school has Bahasa Melayu Club, English Club, Mathematics and Science Club, Pendidikan Agama Islam Club and History and Culture Club. For uniformed units, the school has Puteri Islam, Pengakap, Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah and Kadet Remaja Sekolah. For sports and games, the school has takraw, netball, football, hockey and archery. According to Cikgu Nasrul, 1 pupil 1 sport means that when the students are involved in any kind of sport or activity, it will be considered as 1 pupil 1 sport. For example, all students involved in cross-country championships. The school is running the 1 pupils 1 sport programme as they are all involved in cross-country activity.

8.0 FINAL REPORT In conclusion, SBE has given a lot of experiences and new knowledge for this two weeks. I really appreciate and grateful because I have choose SK Bakri Batu 5 as my first school for my first SBE. I have learnt a lot from teachers there and I really hope that I can get an opportunity to go back to SK Bakri Batu 5 again. Besides, I can learn how teacher handle the class proceed the teaching and learning process at the same time. From here, it help me to gain insight on how to manage the classroom with full of students. I hope that this programme of SBE will help students to gain more experiences and help us to be responsible with our work as a teacher in the future.
