Breastfeeding is a very unique exchange between mothers
and their young ones. Whether you choose to breastfeed for
the extra snuggle or the health benefits, difficulties may
occur. No need to panic, though! This is your quintessential list
of breastfeeding resources available in your local area. Feel
free to use one or all of the available resources to aid you in
your journey. Also, if you find something or someone beneficial

ORGANIZATIONS
Many professional institutions exist to support and help women
throughout their journey of breastfeeding. Useful articles,
books, and diagrams can be found on the websites of some of
these organizations. Breastfeeding organizations are also
filled with support and encouragement. Below is compiled a

CLASSES
There is a broad range of classes available for new moms, those
facing difficulties, and the curious. Classes are tailored to: the

few beneficial in-person classes
Newborn 101 held by Breastfeeding Center of Charleston,
Beginner session on the basics of breastfeeding during the
first few weeks after delivery.
The Mothers Circle held by Breastfeeding Center of
Charleston, The session is group lead and covers relevant
breastfeeding topics such as nursing, sleeping, and up and
downs in breastfeeding. ( A great option for those looking for
peer interaction and encouragement).
Breastfeeding Nutrition held by Breastfeeding Center of
Charleston, This class covers the many concerns about the
quality of breast milk and its ability to satisfy your young one.
Topics covered include nutrition and exercising while
breastfeeding.

The internet is a great place to find useful information. This list is
composed of resources that are factual and reliable. They provide
unbiased, evidence-based tips, news, and resources in the world of
breastfeeding. Online seminars are another great way to learn new
tips and tricks about breastfeeding. Without leaving the comfort of
your home, provided are a few spectacular online seminars. Keep in
mind that some resources are free while others charge,
like in-person classes.

Milk banks are institutions that collect, screen, process, and disperse
human milk donated by nursing mothers. This an option for mothers
who want to breastfeed but may have complications/situations
preventing that. Groups exist on social media platforms in which
milk can be bought or exchanged. It is important to keep in mind
however, that the quality of milk may not be regulated or tested for
contamination.
