April 23, 2016

Greetings,

On behalf of the City of Tallahassee, it brings me great joy to
congratulate the Omega Lamplighters as they celebrate 5 years of service
to the Tallahassee community. As our future leaders I encourage you to
aspire to achieve higher goals and to become the best person that you
can be. It is important that you know we all will one day rely on you
to make decisions that will lead our community and this nation in the
right direction.
Maintain your integrity, charisma and thirst for knowledge throughout
this journey you are travelling on called life. Your collective efforts
and involvement in service throughout the community will impact the
people around you and generations to come after you in the future.
Always remember that living a life of true leadership means that you are
living a life dedicated to the service of others and that you are living
life with a purpose.
I wish you well as you continue striving to move beyond barriers and
obstacles placed before you and I can’t wait to hear all the exciting
things to come in the future.
Sincerely,
Andrew D. Gillum

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

A former football player for the University
of Florida and the Jacksonville Jaguars,
Thaddeus Bullard has become a fixture on WWE’s
programming, including RAW and Smackdown, as WWE Superstar
Titus O’Neil.

Since his debut with WWE in 2012, O’Neil has made an impact in and
out of the ring as a business and family man, motivational speaker,
youth counselor and coach. Bullard often can be found speaking to
children in schools, visiting the elderly in assisted living facilities,
and participating in a variety of charitable events in his community. In addition, he participates in WWE’s
numerous community-giving platforms, including “Be a STAR” anti-bullying campaign and initiatives to
support literacy, the U.S. military, Special Olympics, and Susan G. Komen.

According to Bullard, the most important role in his life is being a father to his sons, T.J. (10) and Titus
(8). That commitment to fatherhood earned him a 2015 MEGA Dad Award, being named Celebrity Dad
of the Year by everythingfordads.com. Bullard beat out actors Stephen Amell, Vin Diesel and Ashton
Kutcher and soccer stars David Beckham and Kaká to claim the award. Last year, Bullard and his sons
were featured in the Ad Council’s “Take Time to Be a Dad” campaign, which was created to inspire a
nationwide commitment to fatherhood. Bullard participated in WWE’s promotion of the campaign via
its television, live events, in-arena, digital and social media platforms, including an oversized billboard
currently on display in Times Square.

At the University of Florida, Bullard was a standout defensive end, helping guide the Gators to victories
in the 1998 Citrus Bowl and 1999 Orange Bowl. He received the Goodwill Gator award in 1998, 1999, and
2000 for community service and involvement and was inducted into the University of Florida Hall
of Fame in the spring of 2000. That same year, Bullard was elected student body Vice President and
named to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” Bullard also received the
“University of Florida Blue Key” (Florida’s most prestigious student leadership award) and “University
Presidential Recognition.” Another very personal accomplishment in 2014 for Bullard was being named
“Humanitarian of the Year” by Rainbow Sports, the athletic arm of Rainbow/PUSH, by noted civil rights
leader Reverend Jesse L. Jackson.

Bullard and his sons reside in Tampa, FL, where they are active members of Revealing Truth Ministries. He
is also a proud brother of Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

The Lamplighters Program, is a mentoring group founded in 1995 by the late Bro. Basileus
Sherman B. Whites and Dr. Richard J. Strachan of the Sigma Alpha Chapter (Miami) of Omega Psi
Phi Fraternity, Inc..

The theme, “Reach One, Save One” was a part of their mission to cultivate academic excellence,
service, and brotherhood to young men between the ages of 12-18.

Omega Lamplighters

Tuesday, September 15, 2008 the Omega Lamplighters Club was founded by Bro. Basileus
Royle King II (Upsilon Psi chapter, FAMU) and Bro. Simeon Nelson (Chi Omega chapter) in
Tallahassee. It was a combination of the Omega Sparks program created by the Theta Alpha
Chapter (Dallas) of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the Lamplighters program from Miami.
The program was piloted with 12 young men from the Big Bend area. Six from Wakulla H.S., two
from Godby H.S., two from Lincoln H.S., one from Florida H.S. and one from Leon H.S.

Sunday, February 15, 2012 the first official class, “Optimus 20”, of Omega Lamplighters was
inducted into the program. During this time, the official logo, colors and shield design was
adopted.

Principles:

Leadership, Academics, Maturity & Perseverance

Perseverance is a shared principle with Omega Psi Phi due to it’s nature of never giving up and
the idea that you will succeed as long as you never quit.

The Mission:

“To work with and establish productive relationships with young men and equip them with high
leadership & academic skills. To offer support, mentorship & guidance while assisting them in their

transformation into Manhood”

Program Colors: Alternate Colors:

Purple & Silver Black, White & Green

The colors were chosen so that the program could stand alone, separate Omega Psi Phi but still
have a recognized link to the fraternity. The chosen colors are represented on the official
fraternity shield.
