About David Sechovicz

David Sechovicz — I am a photography
enthusiast. A thinker, dreamer, lover of all
things whimsical and magical. I love
photography and am passionate about
art. To me art doesn’t have to be pretty. It
has to be meaningful. Now let’s
remember the world “revolves” because
of people’s creativity.

Basic Tips for Photography Beginners

If you like to click photos of beautiful
landscapes using your smartphone, then it is
high time to take your photography skills to the
next level. The tips in this article can help you to
learn new methods to enhance your
photography by trial and error techniques. To
learn these skills, you do not have to know all
the camera functions or have technical
information about the camera settings.

The most important rule to know before clicking a photo is to know
how to compose your photo. What kind of frame you use and what
do you include in your picture, form the key components of your
image to make it unique and call it your own. A photo can look
boring if the horizon line is straight through the middle portion of
the photo. The horizon line should be near the one-third line of
your frame. You can turn on the gridlines to divide your frame into
various sections. Now, shift up or down to place the horizon line as
desired. Similarly, apply the same rule to the vertical lines. You
should place the subject in the left or right center of the vertical
gridlines and you will bring life to your photos.

The ideal time for photography is the time right after sunrise and the time
right before sunset. It is also known as the golden hour and provides the
right kind of lighting for your photography. The sun provides a nice warm
glow when it is low on the horizon and less harsh. Even a mundane
landscape at this hour can look stunning with adequate sunlight
spotlighting the objects in the frame. Sometimes, the light effects are not
appropriate while taking the photo. Do not worry, it can be edited after
the shot is taken as well. You can use one of the many free tools available
online and edit the images as per the requirement. These tools may also
have golden glow filters to provide sun-kissed images after the photo is
clicked.

Additionally, you can modify the brightness of the images using these tools
and filters. To get the perfect picture, you can focus on the objects in your
frame by moving closer to them so that they fill up your frame and the
background or space is removed from your final photo. You can also use a
bigger aperture to make your objects stand out in the clutter and bring life to
your images. You may wish to use zoom settings to make things simpler but
that adds noise and grain to your photography. So, avoid using too much
zooming in your pictures is advised. It is recommended to take candid
photos. People with smiling faces and planned poses look less interesting. On
the contrary, natural-looking frames with kids playing in the backyard may
look more flattering. Ask your subjects to look at each other and interact in
some way to make them look candid.
