PROGRAMA

Estimados Colegas:

Después del éxito obtenido el año anterior durante el primer congreso de PanCornea
realizado en Miami, Con gran afecto y orgullo presentamos el II congreso de
PanCornea

En esta ocasión nuevamente, la Sociedad Colombiana de Oftalmología nos pidió
organizar el “Cornea Day” en el marco del XXXVIII Congreso Nacional de
Oftalmología, la primera vez fue en 2014.

Hoy, Con la colaboración de las sociedades hermanas de Cornea como la Córnea
Society y EuCornea, así como, con las asociaciones americana, latinoamericana y
brasilera (ASCRS, ALACSSA y BRASCRS) de Catarata y Cirugía Refractiva; contamos
con un evento de un día con 12 invitados internacionales de Estados Unidos,
Alemania, Brasil y Argentina, y 6 conferencistas de Colombia donde quiero
personalmente agradecer a la Dra. Carmen Barraquer Coll por gentilmente haber
aceptado ser la conferencista Magistral de este congreso con el tema “Historia de la
Cirugía de Cornea en Latino América”

Hemos decidido dividir el congreso en cuatro sesiones: Infecciones, Superficie
Ocular, Queratocono y Endotelio Corneal, cubriendo todos los temas desde la ciencia
básica, los métodos diagnósticos más modernos hasta una actualización en las
técnicas quirúrgicas establecidas y de avanzada.

Además, contaremos con dos simposios patrocinados, un almuerzo y un evento de
cierre donde se tratarán temas de antibióticos oculares, el DEWS II y la terapia
anti-inflamatoria en el manejo del ojo seco.

Estimados Colegas y Amigos de PanCornea

Como presidente de PanCornea es un honor para mi saludarlos y darles las gracias
por participar en II congreso de PanCornea. Este ano tenemos el privilegio de unirnos
a la Sociedad Colombiana de Oftalmologia y ser parte del XXXVIII Congreso Nacional
de Oftalmolgia, y abrir esta actividad educacional con el “dia de cornea”, como
actividad pre-congreso. Siguiendo la tradicion iniciada en el I Congreso de
PanCornea en Miami, el programa disenado para el “dia de cornea” cubre topicos
que son comunes y no comunes en el campo de cornea y contamos con la presencia
de expertos internacionales y nacionales para discutir y compartir ideas y conceptos
de diagnostico y tratamiento.

Nuevamente tenemos la oportunidad de seguir trabajando con los otra sociedades de
internacionales de Cornea en la ciudad de Cartagena de India, donde hemos sido
recibido con brazos abiertos por nuestros colegas colombianos. En este “dia de
cornea” estaremo honrando a la Dra. Carmen Barraquer por sus contribuciones al
campo de cornea en Latino America, quien hara la conferencia magistral.

Finalmente le quiero dar las gracias a la Dra. Angela Maria Fernandez y a la Sociedad
Colombiana de Oftalmologia por haberno dado la oportunidad de trabajar juntos para
organizar II Congreso de PanCornea y ser parte de la historia de la educacion
oftalmologica en Colombia.
