Vinehall is a co-educational day, boarding school and
nursery for children aged 2-13. Situated on the Kent/
East Sussex border, the school is nestled within 47
acres of stunning rural countryside, which provides
the perfect location for the wonderful experiences the
children enjoy both inside and outside the classroom.

At Vinehall we want to foster a love of learning for its own sake by encouraging
our children to ask questions and think for themselves.
We want our pupils to develop the necessary skills to work productively as part
of a group and to become reflective and resilient learners, unafraid of making
mistakes or of trying something new.
Our innovative curriculum includes life skills, ethics and engineering;
embedding knowledge that will enable them to flourish in the ‘real world’.
We have high expectations for our children, inspiring them to achieve
excellence in all that they do.

We welcome scholarship applications for children entering the school in
Years 3 to 7.
These scholarships are available for children gifted in academics, sport,
music, drama or art.
Children awarded a scholarship receive financial support in the form of
a 10% award (non means-tested*). Additional support and coaching are
available in their area of strength.
The scholarship programme at Vinehall enhances the children’s talents and
prepares them for scholarship exams at their chosen destination school.
* means-tested bursaries are also available subject to application.

Vinehall has great academic ambitions for our children to gain entrance
to their senior schools of choice.

Recent Year 8 leavers achieved 18 scholarships and successful entry to a
wide range of the UK’s most prestigious senior schools.

Sport, music and art feature
very highly in the list of school
achievements, with many national
accolades in athletics, swimming,
gymnastics, equestrian and
fencing.

Music is prevalent, with most
children learning at least one
instrument and all children
participating in the Orchestras
and Choirs.

Vinehall makes full use of its
wonderful 250-seat theatre and
presents numerous orchestral,
brass and piano evenings
throughout the year. We also host
an International Classical Concert
Series which attracts the best of
International and British musicians
to the school.

The school has a strong belief
in helping children find their
own confidence and encourages
participation in the numerous
theatrical productions and
musicals performed by all age
groups throughout the school
year.

The Year 8 leavers complete their

time at Vinehall with a musical

extravaganza; in recent years these

have included Fiddler on the Roof,

Vinehall has a busy boarding
community, where children from
Year 3 upwards are able to board
on a full, weekly or flexible basis.

Boarders stay in small dormitories
and are able to personalise
their own space, creating that
all-important home-from-home
feeling.

Our Saturday enrichment
programme complements and
enhances the weekday learning
and includes academic, creative
and recreational clubs such as Eco
Art, music theory and clay pigeon
shooting.

We offer weekly boarders an
accompanied travel service
between school and the main
South-Eastern terminals*, allowing
children to return to their families
for weekends at home.
