2 PAPER 2 GUIDELINES 1. The paper 2 carries a total of 60 marks. 2. The weightage in the overall SPM English paper is 25%. 3. There are 3 parts in this paper: a) Part 1: Write a short note or email in less than 80 words. Marks allocated: 20 marks b) Part 2: Directed Writing in 125 – 150 words Marks allocated: 20 marks c) Part 3: Descriptive Writing in 200 – 250 words (Choose one among 3 choices) Marks allocated: 20 marks 4. The time allocated for this paper is 1 hour 30 minutes. 5. Assessment: Task Achievement Be sure to write according to the question’s requirements Cohesion Use cohesive phrases to connect ideas between different parts of text. Example: Furthermore, moreover, therefore etc Vocabulary Focus in developing knowledge and skills in multiple aspects of language and literacy Grammar Be sure to avoid making mistakes with plurals, comprehension, punctuation, spelling and capitalization Sentence Structures Use variety in sentence structures, combine simple, compound and complex sentences. It was my fifth visit to Penang, yet there were still so many things to do and places to visit. And of course, a variety of mouth- watering food to eat. In Penang, there are many touristy places like Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si Temple, and Gurney Drive. The most enjoyable place I visited on this trip was the Made In Penang Interactive Museum located at Weld Quay, Georgetown. Made in Penang Interactive Museum displays interesting 3D artwork. For example, there is a picture of a huge 3D snake slithering out from the frame of the Snake Temple picture. This unconventional and impressive museum allows visitors to touch and get close to the artwork. My family and I had great fun taking pictures here. Another beautiful place that I highly recommend visiting is the Batu Ferringhi Beach which is about 11 kilometres from the city centre.
