As he raced down the path to his village, everything in the jungle looked brighter
and more beautiful. Tama noticed a change in his heart, he couldn’t quite say what it
is, but he felt different. He felt hope. He felt wanted. He felt safe. It was almost like
he had known the man from the clouds when he first met him.
How can no one in the jungle know about this man? he thought to himself. He
raced on to Santo and passed the monkeys that had seemed to be laughing at him
before. They were now playing happily in the trees. Tama even thought that one was
smiling and waving at him.
Finally, Tama arrived at his village. This was what he found…
The whole village was well! The sickness was gone from the people, the animals
were healthy, the crops had grown back, and the banana trees were full of fruit! His
mother and father were standing there smiling, waving at him.
How could this be?! Tama thought. Then he remembered what the man from the
village in the clouds had said.
Everyone in the village greeted him and they laughed and shouted for joy.
“What an adventure I have had!” Tama said to the village people and he told
them all about it, and about the man from the clouds. But this was not the end of the
adventure for Tama, only the beginning. There were many more adventures to be
had, and many more times meeting the man from the clouds. But we will save them
for another time.
