TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

e-Portfolio (Teaching Philosophy Cikgu Maizatul)

Play is one of the natural activities and is a
necessity for every child. For me, playing is the best
teaching and learning experience and is a priority in
the education of students with learning difficulties.
In this way, pupils will also be able to learn about
the environment and understand the issues that are
happening around them in a fun situation without
stress. When teaching, I will create a learning
environment that contains stimulation for problem
solving, reducing stress and providing a sense of fun
for students to learn to ensure that the acquisition of
one's knowledge is at the maximum level. Therefore, I
will highlight the concept of playing while learning by
using technological tools to stimulate the interest and
ability of special education students in the process of
application of information.

In the age of 21st century, I would like to be
connectivist teacher. As a teacher, I will always
prepare myself with various technology and skills on
ICT using the gadgets such as smartphone, tablet and
computer. So that, I should always exploring variety of
interactive information communication technologies tool
by combining relevant and an effective pedagogy across
curriculum. Besides that, I aim to develop learning
system that is more convenient, time saving and user
friendly as my teaching tools. Using this educational
philosophy, I am confident can attract student to learn
and more focus on learning over a longer period of time
and also can create joyful when learning. In short, I
will teach my students based on electronic fun
learning.

At the same time, I will also apply the theory of
constructivism by Lev Vygotsky and Jean Piaget when
teaching. Through the learning of constructivism,
pupils' knowledge can be built instead of just
passively retrieving information while in the
classroom. The technology-based teaching and learning
model used by me will also use the Scaffolding method
which is assistance or guidance to students to complete
an unfinished task without the help of the teacher.
Thus, teachers can stimulate this zone by providing
ample opportunities for students to respond to the
ability that pupils can do alone as well as other
skills that require the help by teachers. Therefore,
collaboration between teachers and parents is very
important in guiding special children to improve their
skills or abilities.
