Superhero Day Saturday, March 26

Wear your favorite superhero costume and complete your action hero training. Play games,
make masks, complete obstacle courses, and have tons of fun.
Happy Hoppy Easter Party and Egg Hunt

Cost: FREE
Location: Zebulon Community Park
Hop over to the Zebulon Community Park and enjoy a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny,
as well as games and arts-n-crafts. The party starts at 10:00am with the Easter Egg Hunt
following at 11:00am.

Family Open Gym
Date: Tuesdays

Registration: Pre-Registration is required.
Enjoy some gym time as a family. Family Open Gym time has been designated to give families
time together to use our space and equipment. Spend time playing games, exercising, and
interacting with other families in the community. Child/Children must be accompanied by a
parent or guardian.
Karate Class Membership:

Instructor Charles Mann is a 9th Degree Black Belt. Charles has been the instructor for this
traditional Okinawan Karate for over 30 years and has taught Karate for the Parks & recreation
Department for over 25 years! This class is open to all ages.

In the month of March Skyhawks Sports Academy will be leading their BaseballTots Sports
Clinic! Learning baseball has never been more fun! BaseballTots classes focus on fine and
gross motor skills as well as body control. They teach all the baseball basics, such as throwing,
catching, hitting and running control. Skyhawks is excited to help these little ones develop a love
of the game.
SoccerTots
Date: Every Thursday, April 7 – April 28
Ages: 2-3 @ 4 PM – 4:45 PM

In the month of April Skyhawks Sports Academy will be leading their SoccerTots Sports Clinic!
SoccerTots is their flagship program! Playable on almost any surface, these soccer-themed
motor skill classes are very easy for youngsters to get into. Younger age groups focus on
developing motor skills and self-confidence; older classes focus more on developing core
soccer skills and personal focus and introduce an element of light competition. Instructor-to-
student ratio is kept small to maximize individual development, and above all else we promote
fun, fun, fun!

Princess Royal Crafting Party

Fairy dust, glitter, and sparkles oh my! Join us as we craft all things princess and pretty! Your
little one will create several crafts and visit with our magical princess. Be sure to wear your
royal princess dress.
Superhero Crafting Party
Date: Saturday, March 19

Calling all superheroes! Join us on a special mission at the Superhero Crafting Party. Your
little one will create several crafts, complete an obstacle course, play games, and visit with
Zebulon’s very own superhero. Be sure to wear your favorite superhero costume.
Youth Sewing Class: DIY Bunny Baskets
Date: Saturday, March 26th

Ages: 8-14 yrs. old

Learn how to make DIY Bunny Baskets that are perfect for decorating your room or collecting

Open Gym Basketball for Teens

Spend the afternoon shooting hoops with friends! Play some games, learn new skills, and
work on your technique!
Teen Valentine’s Day Game Night
Date: Thursday, February 10

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all about flowers, sweet treats, and cute crafts. Get your
heart pumping for our Teen Valentine’s Day Game Night. Spend the night playing Valentine’s
Day themed minute to win it games. Each teen will have the opportunity to compete in several
challenges for points, the teen with the most points by the end of the night will win a prize!
This program will give teens a change to meet new friends, work on their problem-solving
skills, and become expert minute to win it competitors.
Teen Easter Egg Decorating Party
Date: Thursday, April 7
Registration Deadline: Monday, April 4
Time: 6:30-8:00 pm

Ages: 13-17
The spring season is here and ZPRD wants to make sure your decorations are ready! This
program will give teens a chance to decorate their own eggs for Easter. Participants will
then be able to take their creations home for their families and friends to enjoy. Eggs and
all decorating materials will be supplied. Weather you make your eggs funky colors, Easter
themed, or something completely different, you’ll be able to show your creativity with this free-
hand, festive Spring program.

Adult Painting Class: Love Is in The Air

The week of Valentine’s Day, love is in the air!
Instructor Amanda Cruz will walk you through the
steps to create this star-gazing scene. All supplies
provided. Paint as an individual and create one
canvas or bring a friend to paint as a pair, split the
work and split the scene to create two coordinating
canvases.
Adult Painting Class: Cock-a-doodle-doo
Date: Tuesday, March 15

Adult Spring Wreath Making Class

Create your own door décor at our Spring Wreath
Making Class! Our staff will be there to guide you and
help you make your very own custom Spring/Easter
themed wreath. All supplies are provided, and we
have a variety of different ribbons and accessories
that are sure to make your wreath one of a kind!

Adult Sewing Class: Easter Basket Liner
Date: Friday, March 25th

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, March 22nd
Learn how to create a custom Easter Basket Liner. Many of the baskets in stores don’t offer
cloth liners, in this class you will learn how to create custom liners for baskets. Basket will be
provided.
Adult Painting Class: Lighthouses
Date: Tuesday, April 19
Registration Deadline: Friday, April 15
Time: 6:30 pm

Can’t wait until warm weather and beach season? Get into the suntan spirit with a lighthouse
painting class! Instructor Amanda Cruz will walk you through the steps to create a lighthouse
canvas. All supplies provided.
Adult Spring Color Pot Class
Date: Saturday, April 30
Registration Deadline: Sunday, April 24
Time: 10:00 -11:00 AM
Location: Zebulon Community Center – Art Room
Cost: $15
Ages: 16 & up
This class will teach you how to plant an arrangement of bright, colorful flowers with an
emphasis on Spring. All you have to supply is your own 12” pot and we supply everything else.

PARKS & FACILITES
The Zebulon Parks and Recreation Department offers six public parks and a Community Center
for recreation enthusiasts in the Zebulon area.
Zebulon Community Park - 401 S. Arendell Ave.
The Zebulon Community Park is the largest park in Zebulon consisting of 47.5 acres full of two
athletic fields, walking trails, two outdoor basketball courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, two
playgrounds and a picnic shelter.
Zebulon Elementary School Park - 1002 Dogwood Dr.
The Zebulon Elementary School Park is tucked behind the Zebulon Library and Eastern Regional
Center and is filled with two baseball fields, a soccer field, volleyball net, a picnic shelter and an
open playfield.
Wakelon Elementary School Park - 8921 Pippin Rd.
Wakelon Elementary School Park, located off Pippin Road, is ideal for anyone looking for an open
space rental. This park consists of two multipurpose fields along with a picnic shelter.
Gill Street Park - 600 N. Privette St.
Gill Street Park is quaint park located between Privette and Gill Street that includes two
playgrounds and an outdoor basketball court.
Whitley Park - 601 N. Wakefield St.
Whitley Park is a lovely shaded park fit for the more relaxing and picnic admirers. Whitley Park
holds two playground areas, picnic shelter, and tennis courts.
Little River Park - 1800 W. Gannon Ave.
Little River Park is one of the oldest parks in Zebulon. Known for its natural flowing river, Little
River Park is for all nature lovers who enjoy fishing, playing on the white sandy beaches or
meditating to the gentle sounds of water rolling through.
Zebulon Community Center - 301 S. Arendell Ave.
What used to be the old Zebulon Armory, the Zebulon Community Center has transformed into
a vibrant and fun-filled community building. The Zebulon Community Center is our most active
facility with numerous programs and activities taking place throughout the day with an open gym
area, two fitness rooms, two activity rooms, an art room, and a classroom that are available for
rent for birthday parties, meetings, or banquets.
Beaverdam Creek Greenway
Beaverdam Creek Greenway connects Taryn Meadows to Weaver’s Pond and is just under 1
mile. This project was 100% grant funded (John Rex Endowment, CAMPO, Wake County, and
PARTF) and includes amenities along the route such as bike repair, fitness equipment, swings,
and an overlook. Public access points can be found on Spiderlily Court, Ginger Lake Court, and at
Pippin Road near the Hendricks Pond.
Zebulon Parks & Recreation offers a variety of Picnic Shelters, Athletic Fields, and event
