Dear friends,
Thank you for joining us tonight at the
Easton Country Club for our Annual
Spring Gala. This celebration of what it
means to come together as a community,
continues to be one of our favorite nights
of the year!
Tonight you will hear extraordinary stories
about extraordinary people. One of those
people is Daniel T. Morse of Morse
Insurance. Dan exemplifies what it means
to be a servant leader and a man for
others. His selfless dedication to the Easton
community is something to which we can
all aspire, and for that reason we are excited to recognize him
tonight as our honoree.
Dan, and people like him, help the Y to offer unique programs and
services to meet the needs every individual, child, and family. Every
day, our community partners work hand-in-hand with our
passionate staff and volunteers to ensure all people have a place
at the Y. We are proud to be an organization that welcomes
infants, teenagers, and older adults under one roof.
At any given moment, our Y-Ability program might be offering an
inclusive swim class for kids with diverse abilities while our
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA program transforms an exercise studio
to offer physical and social support to cancer survivors. Down the
hall, children as young as six weeks old are being cared for in our
child care or KidZone programs while just downstairs, local teens
are using the fitness center to get ready for their next athletic
season. This, of course, would be a slow day at the Y!
None of it would be possible without the support of the people
here tonight and countless more in the community. For that, we
thank you.
We hope you find this evening as fun as it is inspiring.
Sincerely,
Courtney Palm | Chair, Easton Branch Board of Governors
Serah Selmon | Easton Branch Executive Director

Honoring Daniel T. Morse for his
long-standing leadership and
commitment in the Easton community.
Dan Morse truly is “A Man for Others”.
His love of the Easton community,
philanthropy, tireless volunteer efforts and
genuine connections with his neighbors have
shown him to be a wonderful man, son,
husband, father, businessman and friend.
He has been Involved with the Easton YMCA
for two decades. His three active sons
enjoyed the preschool programs, participated
in sports and all learned to swim at the Y. Dan served on the Board
of Governors for many years. A long time member of the YMCA, he
is most frequently seen working out in the early mornings before
work.
Dan is the oldest son of David and Gigi Morse, of Cotuit,
formerly of South Easton. He and his three brothers, David Jr.,
Timothy and Brian, grew up on Priscilla Road. Educated in Easton
Public Schools, he attended Oliver Ames High School, graduating in
1988. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Johnson State
College in VT in 1992. His family is his biggest pride. He is a
loving husband to his wife of 21 years, Amy, as well as a loving
father to his three sons, Jack (20), Griffin (18) and Chad (12).
Dan, President of Morse Insurance, is partners with his brothers
Timothy and Brian. The three brothers bought the business from
their father, David, who started the business in 1988. Dan serves
on the Executive Board for the Insurance Services of New England.
Over the years Dan proudly has served on many of the Advisory
Boards and Agent Councils of the insurance carriers Morse
Insurance represents. He is the incoming Chairman of the
Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents.
12
Dan serves our community of Easton in countless ways. A few
examples include:
• President of F.O.R.E. (For Our Residents of Easton), a charity
that serves our residents in need
• Trustee for North Easton Savings Bank
• Advisor for the Children’s Museum in Easton
• A long time member and supporter of the Knights
of Columbus.
• Member of the Silver Dollar Club
• Former president of the Easton Chamber of Commerce
(Recognized as “Businessman of the Year” in 2006)
• Raising three sons in Easton, Dan spent many years at
Easton’s beloved Militia Park, volunteering and coaching his
sons in Little League
In his free time, Dan enjoys spending time with his family and
friends, playing golf and playing street hockey in the Frothingham
Park Street Hockey League (FPSHL).

FUND-A-NEED
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA works with cancer survivors who have been
weakened – physically and emotionally – by difficult surgeries, intensive
chemotherapy, and/or ongoing radiation treatments. In classes alongside
others who understand what they are going though, participants are able
to regain their strength in a supportive, safe and fun environment. The
program gives them strength, but just as important it provides a critical
support network within their own community. Participants often say that
this program has let them “finally take some control back” in their lives.
$1,000 will allow two cancer survivors to attend a full session of the
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program.
Y-ABILITY PROGRAM AND THOSE WITH DIVERSE NEEDS
Old Colony Y ensures that programs are available to children of diverse
abilities. The Y-Ability program is designed for children and young adults
with intellectual and developmental disabilities and includes components
for their family members as well. Y-Ability is quickly becoming an OCY
Signature program with a focus on water safety skills and fun.
$500 provides two children with differing needs a full year of
Y-Ability programming at our Easton YMCA
SUMMER CAMP
Every summer at Y Camp and Summer Fun Club, nearly 3,000 children
get the unique opportunity to explore nature, try new activities, gain
independence, make lasting friendships, and receive mentoring from caring
counselors. The goal of camp is to inspire teachable moments and keep
campers’ minds engaged while having fun! Each camper has the chance to
participate in camp activities like archery, arts and crafts, environmental
awareness, sports, outdoor adventures, rope courses,
and swimming.
$250 will allow a deserving child to attend a session at
Y Camp or Fun Club
WATER WISE
Drowning is the second leading cause of death for children ages 5 to 14.
Research has shown that participation in formal swimming instruction can
prevent drowning. The Water Wise Program builds upon individual skills to
help children be safe in and around water. As an organization dedicated
to creating safe spaces for all, the Y has an opportunity to make a differ-
ence. The Water Wise program is offered free of charge to all 2nd grade
students in Easton and Avon Public Schools.
$100 will fund two 2nd grade students through the Water Wise
drowning prevention program
