Catholic Memorial High School was founded by the parishioners of St. Joseph Parish who began raising funds for a future high school in the early 1920s. Their goal of providing a high-quality, Catholic education for the area’s youth remained strong and unwavering. Their hope became a reality in 1949 when CMH opened its doors. The school was named in gratitude as a memorial to the 23 young men of St. Joseph’s who gave their lives for their country in World War II. Later, the dedication of the school was extended to include all graduates of Catholic Memorial who have died in service of their country. Today, we respectfully refer to this group as “The 29.” 5

THROUGH FAITH LEADING At Catholic Memorial High School, our faith is at the center of everything we do. We begin and end every school day with prayer. We inspire young people to learn and grow in their faith. We believe that if you guide students with love, teach them how to work for what they believe in and coach them on how to live an ethical life, they will have the strength and confidence to do what’s right. And what’s right for them is often what’s right for the world. 6

• Involvement in CMH faith-based clubs and service clubs • Participation in service projects • Leadership in Campus Ministry • Class retreats: These spiritual experiences encourage you to put your faith into practice and build strong, lasting friendships. Our students tell us the class retreats are among the most profound and memorable experiences of the school year. • Weekly opportunities to pray the Rosary • Experience your faith regularly through the sacraments. The Eucharist is celebrated weekly in the beautiful Our Lady of Memorial Chapel, during larger monthly allschool Masses and on Holy Days. • All-school Reconciliation services are offered during Advent and Lent. Individual weekly opportunities are also available. • You can travel as a part of Youth Ministry to Washington D.C. to participate in the March for Life and attend the National Catholic Youth Conference. LIVING YOUR FAITH In addition to coursework in theology, as a CMH student you can openly and proudly profess your faith in several ways every day, including: 7

CMH provides an outstanding and inspiring student experience that is rooted in our Catholic faith and our reputation for academic rigor and student support. Students are guided to apply their education in more intentional ways to prepare them for a successful future. CMH meets each student where they are and helps them rise to achieve beyond what they ever thought possible. Only one school was awarded Exemplary Recognition in Academic Excellence by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. That school was Catholic Memorial. Catholic Memorial received Exemplary Recognition for Academic Excellence from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in 2023. CMH was recognized for excelling in the thirteen areas identified in the rigorous evaluation process including designing classroom instruction to engage and motivate all students, addressing the diverse needs of each student and applying effective strategies for accommodations and dedication to utilize current research for innovative classroom experiences that foster collaboration and creativity to achieve optimal student success. 8

THE COMPETITION RISE ABOVE CMH is one of two private schools in Wisconsin to offer both AP & IB Courses. As a college-preparatory high school, our wide-array of advanced course offerings provide students the opportunity build a transcript that will stand out in the college application process. Catholic Memorial’s academic leadership and counseling team have spent countless days meeting with college admissions professionals to ensure our curriculum is best positioned to set our students up for success. With the combination of AP, IB and CE courses, the CMH coursework will allow students to rise above the competition. International Baccalaureate (IB) International Baccalaureate (IB) is an internationally recognized program of study and is considered the most rigorous curriculum offered at the high school level. The curriculum is typically taken during the junior and senior years and is based on learning and assessment across a continuum of education during both years. In a rapidly changing world, IB students understand their education in a global context. • CMH graduates have been accepted to highly competitive colleges and universities with IB courses on their transcripts. • Upon acceptance to colleges/universities, CMH graduates have reported receiving between 30-33 college credits for their IB classes. • CMH alumni have reported being better prepared for their college, university and career experience after taking IB classes. • CMH alumni have reported having higher college entrance exam scores that help them test past general education classes and move on to classes in their major of study earlier. Concurrent Enrollment (CE) Catholic Memorial partners with Marquette University to offer a concurrent enrollment opportunity. Concurrent enrollment provides high school students the opportunity to take college-credit bearing courses taught by college-approved high school teachers. Students gain exposure to the academic challenges of college while in their supportive high school environment, earning transcripted college credit at the time they successfully pass the course. Catholic Memorial’s concurrent enrollment courses: Catholic Social Teaching, World Religions, Introduction to Philosophy and Introduction to Education. Advanced Placement (AP) Advanced Placement (AP) is a program run by the College Board (the makers of the SAT) that allows you to take courses in high school, which can earn you college credit and/or qualify you for more advanced classes when you begin college. AP courses are designed to give you the experience of an intro-level college class and also have the opportunity to earn college credit by passing the AP exam. Catholic Memorial currently offers 11 AP courses including: AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science Applications, IB/AP English, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, IB/AP Geography, AP United states History, IB/AP Macroeconomics, AP United States Government & Politics, IB/AP Psychology. 9

Catholic Memorial provides students the unique opportunity to combine academics with experiential learning and project-based education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). CMH is a fully certified Project Lead the Way (PLTW) school, a national program that forms partnerships among schools and industry. CMH’s STEM curriculum elevates your experiences beyond the classroom and into the real world – providing a STEM curriculum that heightens critical thinking, creativity, innovation and problemsolving skills in hands-on and project-based classes. Catholic Memorial has earned national recognition as a Project Lead The Way Distinguished School for six consecutive years for STEM curriculum and career readiness. CMH is one of three schools in Wisconsin to earn this recognition six years in a row. Engineering Engineering classes at CMH provide concurrent learning with some math and science classes. Real-world skills such as CAD design, collaboration and critical thinking are important concepts emphasized in each class to prepare students with the diverse skill sets needed to be successful. Biomedical Science Working with the same tools used by professionals in hospitals and labs, students engage in compelling, hands-on activities and work together to find solutions to problems. By immersing students in activities like practicing suturing and constructing body structures from clay, the coursework empowers students to build knowledge and skills in biomedical science, as well as in-demand, transportable skills like problem solving, critical and creative thinking, communication and collaboration. Computer Science Computer Science is an exciting, challenging and growing field that impacts the world and everyday life in countless ways. Computer scientists are involved in creating technology and systems that are used in a wide range of industries, including engineering, business management information systems, science, genetics, mathematics, statistics, information security, graphic design, environmental research, medicine and entertainment. 10

23 Growth Plan for Students The Growth Plan for Students (GPS) is Catholic Memorial’s intentional means for fostering our CMH values, community and nurturing the development of the whole person. GPS serves as a mechanism to guide students toward becoming young adults who excel and find balance in the four domains of Service, Academics, Leadership and Community. At its center, Faith is integrated in all aspects of growth and development. Key components of the GPS include: • Participation in a small group of 10-14 students with one faculty or staff advisor, meeting weekly. • Groups organized by grade level that meet together all four years of high school. • An individual portfolio of activities in the four domains of student life. • Regular reflection - a critical element for nurturing growth. STUDENT SERVICES At Catholic Memorial, we hone your individual talents, so you grow in ways you never imagined. Our small class sizes allow our faculty and staff to develop relationships with you and your family to provide you with superior individualized instruction. At CMH, we remove limits, so you learn, excel and rise above even your own expectations! We are extremely proud of our track record in serving those with learning needs and the accommodations we provide to many students. The Academic Resource Center (ARC) The ARC is a modern learning space that provides access to technology, quiet rooms for focused studies and areas for group collaboration. Teachers and learning resource specialists are present each hour of the day to offer support in every subject to all students at CMH. This unique space and approach to one-onone attention provides an open and inviting forum for questions, collaboration and innovation for students at every academic level. ACADEMIC, PERSONAL AND SPIRITUAL SUPPORT Our Counseling Department ensures that every student receives the academic, personal and spiritual support they need to succeed. Upon arriving at CMH, a member of our dedicated team of counselors will meet with each family to tailor a plan that’s unique to each student and their college/career and life goals. They take the time to get to know you personally. In addition to meeting regularly to ensure personalized attention, seminars are offered to assist with the career/college selection and planning process. An additional area of support that CMH provides is through a partnership with Christian Family Solutions (CFS). The licensed therapists & counselors through CFS help students navigate stress and give support through difficult times. CFS counselors are on campus five days a week and available for students and faculty to promote the opportunity for open dialogue and focus on mental health and wellness for everyone at CMH. Students and their families can be referred to CFS by a CMH counselor, administrator, or faculty member. This service provides students and families a pathway for support without interrupting their education and adding further stress.

We know that many Catholic grade school families are not sending their children to Catholic high school. The purpose of this award is to create pathways of continued access to Catholic education in high school. While financial need isn’t a criterion, we aim to assist families who may have previously thought Catholic high school education was out of reach. This $5,000 award will renew all four years the student attends CMH, equaling a total value of $20,000. Strongest consideration will be given to students who identify in the following ways: • The first child in their family to attend a Catholic high school • Students attending a Catholic grade school • Families who are active in their Catholic parish TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM CMH sponsors its own tuition assistance, which is awarded on a first come, first-served basis. Catholic Memorial partners with FACTS, an outside evaluating service, to determine eligibility for tuition assistance. FACTS takes into account the financial documents families supply through the online application and uses an established formula to make a recommendation to CMH’s Financial Pathways Committee. TUITION TAX CREDIT The Wisconsin Department of Revenue – Schedule PS (Private School) allows parents to deduct up to $10,000 per student in grades 9-12 at a Catholic high school, regardless of income. Parents with students in grades K-8 at a Catholic grade school may deduct up to $4,000.
