A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
I hope this edition of Chronicles finds you well. As I perused the “Class
Notes” section of this edition, I couldn’t help but be amazed. As CMH
alumni, you continue to live the Memorial Way values and, in so doing, find
2019-2020 CMH BOARD OF DIRECTORS great success. You are part of an enduring legacy!
Michael Grubich, Chair It is hard to believe the first quarter of the 2019-2020 school year is already
behind us. It seems like just yesterday that we sent the Class of 2019 on
Kelly Cleary-Rebholz, Chair Elect/Secretary
their way! The majority of them – 96% - headed off to 2- or 4- year colleges
Larry Brown and collectively, they were awarded over $13.1 million in college
Chris Fox ’88 scholarships. The tradition of excellence continues!
Carlos Garces I was thrilled to see so many of you join us for this year’s Homecoming
Rev. John Gibson game and 5th Quarter celebration. It was a fabulous evening graced with
beautiful weather and a Crusader win! I enjoy listening as you share your

Eric Oechsner living proof of that! Yet we recognize education is changing in many ways.
There are fewer school-aged children, technology is changing the way

work is done and students are searching out more hands-on education. At
Suzanne Schmidt CMH, we are uniquely positioned to rise to these challenges and prepare
Mark Tomchek ’89 our students for a profoundly different future.
Marlo Vasquez Earlier this year, we completed our strategic planning process that included
Rev. Tony Zimmer two years of extensive research and culminated in May 2019 with the
formal approval of RISE: A Plan to Grow Catholic Memorial. This new
2019-2020 ADMINISTRATION strategic plan builds on the successes of its predecessor, Vision 2020, and
will lift our school to the next level.
Donna Bembenek, President
The plan includes exciting new initiatives and several ways for you, our
