An introduction to Catholic Memorial High School.

®

Our School History

Catholic Memorial High School was founded by the determined parishioners of St. Joseph Parish
who began raising funds for a high school in the early 1920s. Their goal of providing a high

quality Catholic education for the area’s youth remained strong and unwavering and their hope
became a reality in 1949 when CMH opened its doors. Today, Catholic Memorial stands as a
living memorial to the 23 young men of St. Joseph Parish who gave their lives for our country
in World War II. Later, the dedication of the school was extended to include all graduates of
Catholic Memorial who have died in service to our country.

Mission

At Catholic Memorial High School, we EDUCATE students as individuals,
intellectually and spiritually. We GUIDE students to work to their highest,
God-given potential. We PREPARE them for post-secondary education and

to become leaders who SERVE the Church and the world.

Leading Through Faith

At Catholic Memorial High School, we inspire young people to learn and grow in
their faith. We believe that if you guide students with love, teach them how to work
for what they believe in, and coach them on how to live an ethical life, they will have
the strength and confidence to do what’s right. And what’s right for them is often
what’s right for the world.

In addition to coursework in theology, as a CMH student, you can openly and
proudly profess your faith through:

• Involvement in CMH faith-based and service clubs
• Participation in service projects
• Leadership in Campus Ministry
• Class retreats: These spiritual experiences encourage

you to put your faith into practice and build strong,
lasting friendships. Our students tell us the class
retreats are among the most profound and memorable
experiences of the school year.
• Opportunities to pray the Rosary are offered weekly.
• You can experience your faith regularly through the
sacraments. The Eucharist is celebrated weekly in the
beautiful Our Lady of Memorial Chapel, during larger
monthly all-school Masses and on Holy Days.
• All-school Reconciliation services are offered during
Advent and Lent. Individual weekly opportunities are
also available.
• You can travel as a part of Youth Ministry to Washington
D.C. to participate in the March for Life and attend the
National Catholic Youth Conference.

Financial Pathways to CMH

We recognize families must balance the cost of education with other financial responsibilities, and we are committed
to helping families find a pathway to investing in a Catholic Memorial High School education possible.

FAMILY TUITION SAVINGS

CMH offers tuition discounts for families with more than one child attending CMH. There is no need to apply; the plan
is automatic and is available to all applicants from both supporting and non-supporting parishes. Please note that
students must be concurrently enrolled to receive the discount.

TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

CMH sponsors its own tuition assistance, which is awarded on a first come, first-served basis. Catholic Memorial
partners with FACTS, an outside evaluating service, to determine eligibility for tuition assistance. FACTS takes into
account the financial documents families supply through the online application and uses an established formula
to make a recommendation to CMH’s Financial Pathways Committee. There is a nominal application fee, and the
Admissions Office will notify families of their tuition assistance decision within 3 weeks of submission.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

There are various scholarships available for families enrolling their students at CMH including: Catholic Memorial
Endowment Scholarships, Parish-Sponsored Scholarships, Business-Sponsored Scholarships, the Catholic Personnel
Grant and many more. Call the Admissions Office at (262) 542-7101 ext. 551 to identify the scholarship opportunities
that apply to your family.

TUITION TAX CREDIT

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue – Schedule PS (Private School) allows parents to deduct up to $10,000 per
student in grades 9-12 at a Catholic high school, regardless of income. Parents with students in grades K-8 at a Catholic
grade school may deduct up to $4,000. If your student moves from grade 8 to high school in the same tax year, you may
claim both tuition expense deductions up to $10,000.

WISCONSIN PARENTAL CHOICE PROGRAM (WPCP)

CMH participates in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP). To be eligible for the program, students must
reside in Wisconsin, but outside the City of Milwaukee and Racine Unified School Districts. Additionally, the household
income of each family must fall below specific income thresholds to qualify financially. Eighth grade students
participating in WPCP may continue in the program as a CMH student by reapplying during the WPCP application
period. Continuing students only need to confirm their residence and do not need to re-qualify financially. The
application period for all students begins February 1st and ends on the third Thursday of April. For more information,
please visit https://dpi.wi.gov/parental-education-options/choice-programs.

Experience the Excellence!

SCHEDULE A SHADOW DAY!

Want to know what it’s like to be a Crusader? We invite all 7th and 8th grade students to
shadow a current CMH freshman or sophomore for a day. You will be fully immersed in
the CMH experience from the classroom to the cafeteria.

What is a shadow day?

Prospective students will “shadow” a host student from 9 am to 1 pm, getting a feel for
the academic and social aspects of student life at CMH and learning why it is great to be a
Crusader!

Who can shadow at Catholic Memorial High School?

7th and 8th grade students are encouraged to spend the day at CMH.

How do I schedule a shadow day?

Parents or guardians can schedule a shadow day for a child by filling out the form online
for the event date of their choice. If there are any questions, please contact the Admissions
Office at [email protected].

When do shadow days take place?

Shadow days are offered during the academic year, September-May, when students are
in session. Typically shadow days are available Tuesday-Friday. To view available dates visit
www.catholicmemorial.net and click on visit us.

Who will I shadow during my visit to Catholic Memorial High School?

It’s our goal to help students have the best day possible. Staff will match students with a CMH freshman
or sophomore that shares similar academic and extracurricular interests. If shadowing students
know a current CMH student, the Admissions team will try to accommodate any requests.

SCHEDULE A PRIVATE TOUR!

We invite you to experience Catholic Memorial High School firsthand.
Join us for a personal tour, to meet our faculty and staff, visit our warm
and welcoming facilities and see our classrooms in action. It is a great
opportunity to ask questions and see how CMH elevates all students to rise
and achieve more than they ever thought possible.

For questions or to schedule a visit, please call the Admissions Office (262) 542-7101.
