Our School History
Catholic Memorial High School was founded by the determined parishioners of St.
Joseph Parish who in the early 1920’s began raising funds for a future high school.
Their goal of providing a high quality Catholic education for the area’s youth
remained strong and unwavering and their hope became a reality in 1949 when
CMH opened its doors. Today, Catholic Memorial stands as a living memorial
to the 23 young men of St. Joseph Parish who gave their lives for their country
in World War II. Later, the dedication of the school was extended to include all
graduates of Catholic Memorial who have died in service to their country.
Mission
At Catholic Memorial High School, we EDUCATE students as individuals,
intellectually and spiritually. We GUIDE students to work to their highest,
God-given potential. We PREPARE them for post-secondary education and
to become leaders who SERVE the Church and the world.
HISTORY
At Catholic Memorial High School, we expect our students to achieve more than
they ever imagined. We challenge each young adult who enters our doors to
continuously grow academically, emotionally and spiritually.
Our exemplary academic programs compel students to elevate themselves
intellectually. Our championship-level athletics, award-winning theatre program
and various extracurricular activities drive students to perform at their very best.
We inspire and educate in faith. It is through these faith-based principles our
students develop as leaders, as scholars and as contributors to society.
This is how we help our students rise to every challenge and overcome every
obstacle. Here, students become the very best version of themselves, fully
prepared for lifelong success. And at Catholic Memorial, we expect nothing less.

them is often what’s right for the world.
