Advanced-Level Courses: International Baccalaureate

IB is an internationally recognized program of study and is considered the most rigorous
curriculum offered at the high school level. IB teaches you how to gain knowledge.
The curriculum during the Junior and Senior year is based on learning and assessment
across a continuum of education. In a rapidly changing world, IB students understand
their education in a global context. CMH graduates have reported being better prepared for
their secondary educational experience, with most achieving acceptance into the college
of their choice. Alumni also report that their college courses were easier than expected due
to the preparation they received at CMH.

STEM-Focused Education: Project Lead the Way

At CMH, we have connected the rigor of IB with the applied learning opportunities provided
through science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Catholic Memorial is a fully
certified Project Lead the Way (PLTW) school. PLTW is a national program that forms part-
nerships among schools and industry to increase the number and quality of engineers.
Like the IB Career Program, PLTW elevates your experiences beyond the classroom and
into the real world – providing an engineering curriculum that heightens critical thinking,
creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills in hands-on and project-based classes.
We partner with colleges, universities and industry experts to provide an impressive, unique
support network that opens doors for you to mentorships, internship opportunities,
admission preference, college credit and scholarships. In fact, you can begin earning college
credits as early as your freshman year.

such as business management, culture, ethics, globalization, innovation and strategy.

Financial Pathways to a
Catholic Memorial Education

We believe a Catholic education is essential to developing our students into
young men and women of Christ who will go out and serve the world.
At the same time, we recognize families must balance the cost of a Catholic
education with other financial responsibilities. We are committed to helping
families find a pathway to a Catholic Memorial High School Education.

Family Tuition Plan
CMH offers tuition discounts for families with more than one child attending CMH. There is no
need to apply; the plan is automatic and is available to all applicants from both supporting and
non-supporting parishes. Please note that students must be concurrently enrolled in order to receive
the discount.

Tuition Assistance Program
CMH sponsors its own tuition assistance based on financial need. Applications will be available
on the website and in the Admissions Office beginning in early January. All previous applicants
and all incoming freshmen will receive their tuition assistance applications in the mail. Financial
need is determined by information provided to an outside evaluating agency. The agency provides
Catholic Memorial with an unbiased, fact-based assessment of a family’s financial condition.
There is a minimal fee charged by the outside agency for this service.

Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP)
CMH participates in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program. If a student resides outside of
Milwaukee Public School District and the Racine Unified School District, they are eligible to apply
to the WPCP. In order for students applying to the WPCP program for the 2018-2019 school year
to qualify, the family’s adjusted gross income needed to be at or below 220% of the federal
poverty level. More information is available at: www.dpi.wi.gov/sms/choice-programs.

Tuition for the 2018-2019 School Year:

Families of supporting parishes All other families

First child $11,160 First child $12,310

SCHOOL HISTORY

In the early 1920s, a group of faithful parishioners
at St. Joseph Parish in Waukesha dreamed of a high
school where young people could grow in faith and
knowledge. Despite tough economic times, they went
to work raising funds. Not even an ensuing World War

or the hardships caused by the Great Depression
could shake their faith or weaken their resolve.

They persevered and in 1949 they opened the doors to
Catholic Memorial High School and dedicated it as a
living memorial to 23 young men of St. Joseph’s killed
in World War II. Years later, the dedication was extended
to include all graduates of Catholic Memorial who have
made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.
Today, we are proud to honor their memory each year

at our Lives of Service Mass.
