‫ כרפס‬- Karpas: Dipping celery in salt and water

A sheet of celery (less than a kazayit, 29 grams) is distributed to each, and then dipped into salt water
or vinegar. Before eating, the head of the family says the corresponding blessing bore peri haadama,
while taking care to exempt the Maror which will be eaten later.

‫ יחץ‬- Yahats: Dividing the matza in two

Of the three matsot that are on the seder plate, divide the middle one in two.
The smaller half will remain between the other two matsot, while the larger half will be
put aside, for the use of the Afikomane.
In some communities, it is customary to put this bigger half in a handkerchief that is
attached to a staff carried by one of the assistants on his shoulder.
He stands at the entrance and is asked, "Where are you from?" And he answers:
"Egypt". And again we ask him: "And where are you going like this?", And he answers:

"to Yerushalayim", and all the assistants shout: "Next year in the
rebuilt Yeroushalayim".

‫ מגיד‬- Magid: We tell the story

The head of the family raises the seder plate, Keara, from the table and recites the first
paragraph of the Hagada: Ha Lahma Anya.
The glass of wine is refilled.
The Keara is removed completely from the table to rise questions about the strange
course of the Seder.
Ma Nishtana is read and only after do we return the Keara to the table.
Drink the second cup of wine leaning, with hesseba, at the end of the reading of the first
part of the Hagada.

‫ רחצה‬- Rohtsa: Washing of the hands

We rinse our hands in the same way as mentioned in the paragraph "OURCHATS".
However, here the blessing "Al Nililat yadayim" will be recited.

‫מצה‬-‫ מוציא‬- Motzi-Matza: Blessing on the matza

We take the 2 and a half mats that are in the Keara and recite the Bracha of Hamotzi.
The lower matza is dropped and the "Berakha: al achilat matza" is recited. It is
important to consume with hesseba the minimum quantity of 2 kazayits (58 gr.). A
kazayit from half of the upper matza and the second kazayit of the half of the second
matza, all in 4 to 7.5 minutes.

‫ מרור‬- Maror: bitter vegetable (lettuce in this case)

Here too, each eat the minimum amount of kazayit (29 gr.) of lettuce. Lettuce is dipped in
the Harosset and is eaten whole, reciting beforehand the corresponding blessing of "akhilat
maror". No hesséba for the Maror.

‫ כורך‬- Korech: wrap matza in lettuce leaves

Using the 3rd matza that has remained on the tray, it is wrapped in leaves of lettuce.
Dip everything in the Harosset and recite the corresponding part before eating "Zekher lamikdash
keelil hazakene sheahaya korkhane veokhlane bevate ahate lekayem my shenemar al matsot oumeorim
yokheluhou".

The Korech includes a minimum of 29 grams of matza and as much lettuce; these measurements
are very precise. Korech demands Hesseba.

‫ שולחן עורך‬- Shulchane Orech: the meal

The Keara is removed from the table to make way for the festive meal.

‫ צפון‬- Tsafun: the half matza which was hidden

Distribute this half-matza to all (add from other matzot as well). The hesseba and the quantity of 29
grams are a must.
We do not eat anything after Tsafun to keep the taste of matzah in the mouth. However, a cup of tea
or coffee, especially if it will help one to stay awake for the rest of the Seder.

‫ ברך‬- Barech: Thanks after the meal

We fill the third cup of wine and we recite Birkate hamazone without forgetting the part we add for Pesach. If forgotten
Birkate Hamazone must be recited from the beginning again.
Finishing, we say the blessing on the wine and we drink it with Hassèba.
The fourth and final cup is filled immediately.

‫ הלל‬- Hallel: praise

Holding the glass of wine in front of you, recite the "Praise" which is the last part of the Hagada.
They must be sung with a surplus of joy and with a deep feeling of thanks to the one Who makes the incredible miracle
of the continuity of the Jewish people through the times. Finishing, we drink the fourth cup of wine leaning on the left
side. Once the wine is finished Al Hagefen is recited.

‫ נרצה‬- Nirtza: Accepted

The Seder is coming to an end. The Almighty has accepted your work and your effort which
has made this evening an unforgettable moment for all. Customs vary on the different
songs that end this Passover night.
May be His Will that we can celebrate it very soon in Yerushalayim, reunited forever.
