Mother duck laid five eggs under a tree .One morning, the eggs began to
crack. All the eggs had come alive except one. The mother duck was
worried.

Finally, the egg broke and there came out a grey colored duckling. This
duckling was different from its other siblings. It was very big and rather
ugly.

All her brothers and sisters made fun of the duckling and they would not
play with him. He decided to leave the family and go somewhere deep in
the woods.

Soon, winter came by. The duckling shivered with cold. He went to a family
of ducks. They rejected him.

He went to stay in the hen’s house. The hens pecked him with their beaks
so he ran away.

Then he met a hunter who took him back but even there he was troubled by
the cat that lived there.So he left the hunter’s house.

Soon,it was spring. The ugly duck had grown up. One day, he saw a river. He went close
to the river.

When he bent his head, he saw his own reflection in the water and was
astonished. He wasn’t ugly anymore. He had turned into a handsome young
swan.

Now he realized why he looked different from his siblings because he was a
swan and they were ducks. He married a beautiful swan and lived happily
ever after.

MORAL VALUE

We should not discriminate people , judging by their
physical appearance.
