______ KNOW KIDS HEADING OFF TO COLLEGE?

ARE YOU UPGRADING YOUR
FAMILY’S OR CHILD’S TECHNOLOGY

FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR?

Temple Beth Am will be collecting your used (must be in working condition) laptops and desktops now
through the end of August to send to Guatemala through Funsepa’s Technology to Educate initiative.

The Technology to Educate program (TPE) was born with the aim of bringing technology to remote
corners of Guatemala in order to improve the educational quality provided to Guatemalan children. TPE

technicians refurbish computers for distribution to schools, students, and teachers all over Guatemala.
The COVID-19 pandemic made this need even more vital, as school closed and education stopped for
many because either the teachers or students did not have access to computers for remote learning. By
connecting schools with technology, Funsepa is able to open a whole world of innovation and learning to

the students as well as provide education opportunities for teachers including those in rural areas.

Funsepa fixes, installs, distributes, and services the computers at no cost,
including providing ongoing technical support.

To donate your computer, please drop it off at Temple Beth Am all
summer long. For more information, please contact Alissa Frankel
at [email protected] or 561.747.1109.

We need your college student’s address!

The College Connection program gives TBA the opportunity to send out surprise holiday packages throughout the
year to our college students. This is a wonderful way to let them know that their family and congregation are thinking
of them and allows the students to maintain a strong connection to their Judaism. The packages will be sent out
three times every year that your child is in college in time for Rosh Hashanah, Hanukkah, and Purim!
If you would like to participate in the College Connection Program and have your college students receive
packages from the Temple, please send their college address no later than September 9, 2022 to Alissa
Frankel, Education Director, at [email protected]. Even if they have received packages in the past,
please fill out a new form (one per student) so we can update our information.
A $36 donation per student is suggested. This helps to defray the cost of materials and shipping. As always your
donations are greatly appreciated.

We look forward to continuing our relationship and support for your student(s)!

MITZVAH OF THE MONTH:
ALLONGÉ FOR THE UKRAINE

The Jewish Volunteer Center of Palm Beach County and 11-year-old Ayel Morgenstern
are proud to announce a collaboration to help Ukrainian children. Ayel’s love for ballet

and her desire to help others inspired “Allongé for the Ukraine”. Allongé is a French
word meaning to reach/elongate, and is often used in ballet.

Let us reach together to spread Love and Light, LeHafitz Orr VeAhava, to the Ukrainian
children. We are collecting gently used and/or new children’s shoes that will be hand-

delivered to Ukrainian refugees in Israel this July. Together let’s help the Ukrainian
children stand on their feet again…one pair of shoes and two “soles” filled with love.

How you can participate: Please drop off gently used and/or new children’s
shoes at the Temple during regular business hours by Thursday, June 23.
We will coordinate delivery of the donations to Jewish Volunteer Center.

He is also very active on social media platforms, where he debates politics, culture, and history all around the world. He

How can you honor your deceased loved one?

By placing your loved one’s name on the Memorial Board
in the Memorial Hallway entering the Sanctuary.

When you do this, a light on their plaque will be lit on their Yahrzeit (anniversary
of their death) and their name will be included in the Shabbat announcements.
Their light will also be lit on Yom Kippur and their name will always be included in the Yizkor Book
during the High Holy Days. Even when you are gone, your loved one will not be forgotten.

Plaques are $500 for the upper section (rows 1-12) of the Memorial Board, and $750 for
the lower section (rows 13-20). Call the Temple at 561.747.1109 to place your order.
