Lake Geneva Winterfest 2026 11 America’s Snow Sculpting InvitationalAMERICA’S SNOW SCULPTING INVITATIONALis a juried competition open to sculpting teams from across the United States and abroad. Teams will compete for First, Second, and Third Place overall honors, as well as Artist’s Choice and People’s Choice awards.Sculptures will be judged by a jury of notable snow sculptors and other artists who work in large-scale sculpture to determine the first, second, and third-place finishers. Judging criteria include points for artistic merit, technical skill, creativity and originality, and adherence to original sketches. The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in the Riviera Ballroom on Saturday, January 31 at 3pm.ARTIST’S CHOICE The Artist’s Choice winner will be chosen by fellow sculptors in the competition. They may not vote for their own sculpture. Sculptors will judge each sculpture based on creativity, technique, and overall message. The winner in this category will also be announced at the January 31 Awards Ceremony.PEOPLE’S CHOICE The People’s Choice winner will be selected by Winterfest visitors voting for their favorite sculpture. People’s Choice voting opens at 10am Saturday, January 31 and closes at 3pm Sunday, February 1. A team of “stompers” pack the snow down as it’s poured into a form to create the sculptors’ blank canvas.
