ARRIVAL+ TRANSFER INFORMATIONLe Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa is located in Lhaviyani Atoll on the beautiful island of Thilamaafushi. The transfer takes approximately 35 to 50 minutes by shared seaplane from Velana International Airport (MLE).When booking your international flights, please keep in mind that we operate in partnership with the Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) to provide seaplane transfers that operate during daylight hours only and usually fly between 06:00 to 16:00.For arrival, we are able to arrange seaplane transfer for international flights landing at the airport at or before 15:30. For departure, we are able to arrange seaplane transfer for international flights departing from the airport at or after 09:00. Please note that all times are in local times (GMT+5).To arrange your seaplane transfers, please provide us the below information at least 7 days prior to your arrival.• Complete name of your travel companion(s) along with the gender• If you are traveling with children, please provide us the ages of the children• Arrival and departure details (international arrival and departure flight numbers or name of the hotel that you will be staying at prior to or after your stay with us)Please note that TMA shares the seaplane timings one day prior to your scheduled arrival / departure.For late evening international departure flights, latest seaplane transfer from resort can be requested ON AVAILABILITY basis only and final schedule will be confirmed by seaplane operator an evening prior to departure date.Due to any unforeseen situation or weather condition, guest might be booked on earlier seaplane departure flight as well and same will be communicated with guest once the final scheduled is received from seaplane operator.The seaplane transfer charges are as follows:• Below 2 years - Complimentary• Between 2 - 11.9 years - USD 283• 12 years & above - USD 565The waiting time at the seaplane terminal is subject to change based on airline operation, flight connection and weather condition (approximately two hours or more depending on final schedule).The maximum baggage allowance per person (aged 2 years and above) is 20 kilograms & 5 kilograms for hand luggage.Excess baggage will be charged an additional fee of USD 5 per kilogram (subject to change by service provider). Please be advised that the linear dimension of any of the luggage pieces must not exceed 158 centimeters.Please be informed that since this is a shared seaplane transfer, occasionally the seaplane may stop at other destinations while en route to and from our beautiful island. The seaplane journey takes approximately 35 to 50 minutes per way (subject to weather conditions and seaplane route).Please note that neither Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa nor Trans Maldivian Airways can be held responsible for the delay or cancellation of flights which occur due to severe weather conditions. Any additional costs involved in alternate accommodation or international flight rearrangements due to force majeure are to be borne by the guest.FLIGHT ARRIVALS AFTER 15:30If your international flight arrives at Velana International Airport (MLE) after 15:30, we shall arrange the seaplane transfer for the following morning. We recommend that you stay overnight at a hotel near the airport at your own expense.Here are some conveniently located options:• Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa (our sister property, located 15 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport)• JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort (our sister property, located 15 to 20 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport)• Hulhule Island Hotel (located on the same island as Velana International Airport)
ARRIVAL+ TRANSFER INFORMATIONARRIVAL ASSISTANCE AT VELANA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTFor guests, travelling on international flight, our airport representative associate will be keeping track of your international flight and will be waiting for you outside the international arrival terminal. They will be holding a Le Méridien sign so that you may easily identify them. They will welcome you and assist you to check in for your seaplane transfer to the resort and escort you to Le Méridien VIP Lounge (located in Seaplane Terminal Building), where you can relax and wait in a serene atmosphere.For guests, arriving from nearby hotels in Male or other resorts, once you have booked the hotel kindly advise us the name of the hotel so that we may coordinate your arrival transfer with them. Please be advised that the seaplanes only operate from Velana International Airport (MLE) and you will need to return to the airport for your arrival transfer to Le Méridien Maldives.While the resort does coordinate your arrival transfer with the hotel that you book for your overnight stay for a smooth connection, we do not arrange airport pick up or drop off service from or to that hotel.Please request a drop-off at Terminal 1, Gate 4, where our team will meet you and assist you with the check-in for your seaplane transfer.Should you have any questions, please approach the information desk, who will be able to contact our team. TRAVELLER HEALTH DECLARATIONIn accordance with health requirements, all international travelers are required to submit an Online Health Declaration Form within 96 hours before their arrival to the Maldives.
