adjectives and adverbs. It aims to describe a person, place or thing. It consist of the
identification of a person, place or thing and their description.

KEGIATAN PEMBELAJARAN

PENDAHULUAN 15 (MENIT)

1.Guru mengucapkan salam ketika memasuki kelas dan menyapa siswanya.
“Assalamu’alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa baraakaatuh”

2.Guru menanyakan kabar siswanya dan memberikan arahan kepada siswanya untuk berdo’a sebelum
kelas dimulai.
“Hello my students, Good Morning. How is everything? Are you ready to study now? Ok, before we start
our class today let’s saying Basmallah continue to pray”

3.Guru mengecek kehadiran siswanya
“Let me check your attendance first”

4.Guru mereview materi sebelumnya, memberikan motivasi dan mulai menyampaikan topik pembelajaran
dan ujuan pmebelajarannya.
“Dear students, last week we have learn about narratif text, so what is narratif text?.
Well, today we will continue our material about descriptive text. And in thhis lesson for you to understand
and identify the specifik from descriptive text like defenition, purpose, generic structure and language
feature of the descriptive text.”


BKOF (15MENIT) KEGIATAN INTI

1.Guru menyiapkan sebuah gambar atau teks, audio
dan juga video dan menampilkannya di hadapan
siswanya.

2.Guru memberi arahan kepada siswanya untuk
memperhatikan, mendengarkan dan memahami
gambar, audio dan video tersebut.
“Well students, we will learn about descriptive text.
First of all let’s see the picture, listen the audio and
watch the video”

3. Guru bertanya kepada siswanya mengenai
gambar atau teks yang telah ditampilkan tadi.
“Okay students, who do you see in the picture?
How about the video and audio? Who do you see
and listen in the video and audio?. Who is he?”


MOT (25 MENIT)

1.Guru menayangkan kembali gambar, audi dan
video yang sudah ditayangkan di awal dan
mengaitkannya dengan teks deskriptif.
“After see,watch and listen the picture, video and
audio, let’s continue to look at the descriptive text”

2.Guru memberikan pertanyaan kepada siswanya
siapa yang bisa menjelaskan tentang deskriptif.
“Well, so what is the descriptive text?”

3.Guru memberikan informasi terkait teks tersebut
dan mengklarifikasi definisi yang benar dari
deskriptif teks dan menjelaskan mengenai tujuan
dan teks tersebut.
“Well students, descriptive text is a text that explain
and describe a person, place, or thing. It uses
adjectives and adverbs. It aims to describe a person,
place or thing. It consist of the identification of a
person, place or thing and their description.”


1.Guru memberikan penjelasan detail tentang deskriptif teks baik dari defenisi, purpose,ciri-
ciri,generic structure dan language featurenya.
“ Well students, I will explain to you about the descriptive text.

Descriptive text is a text that explain and describe a person, place, or thing.
Descriptive Text is a kind of text with a purpose to give information. The context of this kind of
text is the description of particular thing, animal, person, or others, for instance: our pets or a
person we know well (Gerot and Wignell, 1994).

Purpose of descriptive text is to aims to describe a person, place, and thing.

Characteristics of the descriptive text is uses simple present tense, adjectives, and adverbs.

Generic structure of descriptive text is identification, and description.
Ø Identification: the identification element aims at introducing and identifying specific
participant (a person, thing, place, animal or event) to be described in the Descriptive text
(Gerot & Wignell, 1994; Knapp & Watkins, 2005; Nafisah and Kurniawan, 2007, p.15; Emilia and
Christie, 2013, p.36)
Ø Description: the description aims at describing the specific participant in text. It contains
descriptive details or information of the specific participant by providing the description of its
characteristics, appearances, personality, habits or qualities (Gerot & Wignell, 1994; Knapp &
Watkins, 2005; Nafisah and Kurniawan, 2007, p.15; Emilia and Christie, 2013, p.36). “


EXAMPLE

NATIONAL MONUMENT

The National Monument, or "Monas" as it is popularly called, is one of the monuments built
during the Sukarno era of fierce nationalism. The top of the National Monument (Monas) is
Freedom Square. It stands for the people's determination to achieve freedom and the
crowning of their efforts in the Proclamation of Independence in August 1945. The 137-meter
tall marble obelisk is topped with a flame coated with 35 kg of gold. The base houses a
historical museum and a hall for meditations. The monument is open to the public and upon
request the lift can carry visitors to the top, which offers a bird's eye view on the city and the
sea.

Go early to beat the crowds and the haze. It is easy for the less physically able as lifts take
visitors to the top. The diorama exhibition in the basement gives such a distorted view of
Indonesian history.

This imposing obelisk is Jakarta's most famous landmark. Construction started in 1961
under President Soekarno but was not completed until 1975, under President Soeharto. The
monument houses a couple of museums. The Freedom Hall depicts Indonesia's struggle for
independence through a series of dioramas, whereas the Hall of Contemplation displays the
original Declaration of Independence document and a recording of the speech.

Guru membentuk kelompok kemudian
memberikan teks lain yang berbeda judul dengan
teks sebelumnya.
“Okay students, now we will continue with
discussion, before start to discussion I will divide
you into some group”

Guru meminta siswa untuk menyampaikan hasil
diskusinya di depan kelas
“well, finish guys, so now I want all of group to
presenting the result of their group. Who will
present first?”

Guru dan siswa membahas worksheet tersebut


ICOT (15 MENIT)

1.Guru memberikan gambar kepada
siswa untuk dideskripsikan secara
individu

2. Siswa menulis teks deskriptive
sederhana secara mandiri sesuai
dengan gambar yang telah diberikan
oleh guru.
“Okay guys, for the last session I ask
you to write your own text about this
topic is Taj Mahal. Write in your
exercise book and after hat we discuss
it.“


PENUTUP (5 MENIT)

1. Guru memberikan feedback dengan memberikan pujian kepada
siswanya.

2. Guru memberikan sedikit refleksi untuk mengetahui pemahaman
siswanya terkait topik hari ini.
“Okay students, What do you know about descriptive text? What is
the purpose of this text? What is the characteristic of this text? And
whait is generic structure and language feature of this text?”

3. Guru menginformasikan mengenai pembelajaran dihari
selanjutnya.
“For next week we will learning about procedure text. I ask you to
read about this material before our class next week”

4. Guru menutup pembelajaran dengan mengucapkan
Alhamdulillah
“Okay my beloved students, I think enough for today. Let’s say
Hamdalah(Alhamdulillahirabbil’alamiin) and don’t forget your
homework. See you next week. Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullah
wabarakatuh.”
