FCRIT's Transition to an Autonomous College Journey to Autonomy In an era marked by rapid advancements in technology and educational paradigms, educational institutions worldwide are exploring avenues to enhance their academic frameworks. Father C. Rodriguez Institute of Technology (FCRIT), Vashi, is poised to embark on a transformative journey as it transitions into an autonomous college from the forthcoming academic year. This monumental shift promises to redefine the educational landscape for FCRIT, its faculty, and its students. In our quest to delve into the essence of autonomy and its implications for academic institutions, we had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Milind Shah Sir, the esteemed Dean of Academics at our institution, at FCRIT. Dr. Shah elucidated that achieving autonomous status empowers FCRIT with the prerogative to design its curriculum, conduct classes, and undertake evaluations independently, albeit being affiliated with the University of Mumbai. The transition brings forth a plethora of benefits, including the integration of contemporary curriculums catering to the latest domains, enhanced transparency in result declarations, and streamlined examination processes. With autonomy, FCRIT will witness a paradigm shift in academic curriculum, marked by increased flexibility and a focus on learning and understanding. The institution will now offer two examinations, mid-semester and end-semester, with the 8th semester reserved for internships, fostering holistic academic growth. The autonomy status paves the way for intensified research and development initiatives, fostering collaborations with industries for internships, placements, and research activities. olistic development. Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, FCRIT aspires to evolve into an independent university in the long term, embracing autonomy as a stepping stone towards this vision. Leveraging autonomy, FCRIT aims to nurture an environment conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation, empowering both students and faculty to explore and innovate. While autonomy heralds transformative changes, it does not compromise on the provision of freeships or scholarships, ensuring ongoing support for deserving students. However, it is noteworthy that there may be a nominal annual increase of 10-15% in fees, applicable to firstyear students, which will persist throughout their academic progression to the fourth year. The transition to autonomy heralds a new chapter in FCRIT's illustrious journey, characterized by innovation, academic excellence, and a commitment to nurturing future-ready professionals. With a clear vision, strategic planning, and a steadfast focus on holistic development, FCRIT is poised to emerge as a beacon of educational excellence in the years to come. The Manthan Club extends its gratitude to Dr. Milind Shah Sir for providing invaluable insights into FCRIT's transition to autonomy, paving the way for a brighter future for the institution and its stakeholders. This report encapsulates the essence of FCRIT's journey towards autonomy, showcasing the institution's commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development. 8

“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot but missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” -Michael Jordan Life to me, seems like a magnificent rollercoaster, with no one having figured out the buttons on the remote. no one has figured out how to operate. We are all just pressing buttons that make sense to us and experiencing the twists of uncertainty that reveal the resilient fabric of our own stories. In the academic realm, Semester 7 emerges as a pivotal crossroads, where the pursuit of knowledge converges with the anticipation of professional horizons. Interviews become the threshold, a gateway to shaping one's destiny—whether it's clinching a coveted position or unlocking the doors to prestigious academic pursuits. As we embark on this journey, it's essential to delve into the realms of emotional intelligence—a compass that guides us through the highs and lows of personal and professional endeavours. The uncertainty of future plans can evoke a myriad of emotions—excitement, anxiety, anticipation. It's a canvas where each stroke of emotion adds depth to the masterpiece of our experiences. The question, "What are your plans for next year?" goes beyond casual conversation. It's a deep inquiry that binds us together in a collective experience, demanding introspection. The question that echoes in the corridors of academia, "What are your plans for next year?" transcends the realm of casual conversation. It's a profound inquiry that demands introspection, and as we grapple with the articulation of our dreams, it binds us together in a collective experience. The uncertainty that swirls around this question is not a solitary spiral but a shared journey, where each individual's narrative intertwines with the grand tapestry of ambition and self-discovery. Picture the evening when yet another shortlist is unveiled—a routine event for some, yet a pivotal moment for others. In this dichotomy lies the essence of life's uncertainties. What may seem mundane to one is transformative for another, underscoring the interconnectedness of our experiences. As we navigate through the maze of interviews, grapple with the mystery of future plans, and face the pressure of that seemingly simple question, let’s imbue the journey with a sense of community. Embracing life’s uncertainties becomes a joint discovery—a dance where the strands of our professional goals intertwine with the hopes and realities of those around us. Think of it as a musical harmony of shared goals, where the blank space of uncertainty is not a cause of worry but a source of inspiration for different stories of hope, resilience, and achievement. Each step is not just an individual move but a collective effort, a journey where the beauty of the unknown is not a problem to solve, but a fascinating adventure to enjoy. In this common exploration, let the beauty of life’s uncertainties be not only a reason for excitement, but a celebration of the infinite opportunities that lie ahead. iving with anxiety is like living with a ghost that haunts you 24/7 that stays within you all the time and comes out unexpectedly at the worse times. It's like living with a constant voice in your head that keeps talking negatively and takes away your happiness, your happy moments and what not. It's like being in a haunted walking house, still alive by the ghosts that live in it. It's like living with the constant fear of something that might be wrong or something that may happen. It's living with fear of the anxiety knocking on my door and saying hi, it’s me again. It's like living with the fear of what will happen next, and what if nothing happens next, stuck between the loops of unwanted questions we drool between them forever. After sometime that ghost makes you so lonely, that you end up alone staying up, talking and listening to them where you think that they're the only one who stayed while everyone has left. It's like making friends with someone whose intentions are to only make you dead, but they give you the hope that you're alive only because of them. They make you weaker and weaker with every passing day, taking you away slowly from everything that you once loved to do by making you feel you're not worthy of anything or making you feel unwanted. Without our notice we become their puppets. Finally, we're no longer the person we were. We forget out true selves, we forget who we actually are and what we actually want. The demons have won, they decide who I am and what I want as per they feel. They own my mind and so do my body and soul. It's getting hard to breathe in here. I just want myself back but I feel stuck. In the end, being trapped inside our minds, we scream for someone to help us pull out of that dark place, but looks like they've taken us too far away from our actual human self. Nobody seems to hear me or save me. Were my demons right? Am I actually unloved and unwanted? Because I feel this till today. “Embracing the Unseen: Understanding the Anatomy of Fear” ear, a primal emotion woven into the fabric of human existence, often remains exclusive and misunderstood. It is an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain or harm. It’s a complicated emotion one feels in response to any certain stimuli. It is nothing more than an obstacle that stands in the way of progress. It is a defense system that keeps us safe and out of harm. We all have experienced fear at a point in our life. It is the most common human emotion; that cannot be avoided at all. People may experience it in different ways and to different degrees. It is a universal feeling. Fear differs from person to person; a student may have fear of failure; fear of not being good enough, fear of disappointing others; a child may have falling, drowning. A worker may have fear of losing his job, not reaching his workplace on time, not getting paid enough. Parents have fear of not being able to provide enough, fear of their child not succeeding. One may have fear of injection, dogs, snakes, darkness. etc Fear does not stop death, it stops life. Fear is the thief of dreams. Fear has the power to change a person’s psychological makeup and conduct. It also affects our physical health and our ability to think rationally. We must understand that it doesn’t exist anywhere except in the mind. Everything we want is on the other side of fear, we must learn to overcomeour fears then only we can move forward, be stronger and wiser within ourselves. Recognizing your fear is the first step towards conquering it. As in order to overcome it we must identify it first. Exploring the nuances of fear, understanding its origins, and learning to navigate its intricacies becomes an imperative journey toward self-awareness and empowerment. Do the thing you fear to do and keep doing it; that’s the quickest way to conquer fear. For example; to overcome fear of public speaking, for instance, you may start by making a presentation to a small group of friends and then progress to a larger audience. We must recognize our excuses, as avoiding fear only makes them scarier. What you fear; if you face it; it will start to fade. Try talking about it to your family and friends. Think positively; positive thoughts will help you get relaxed. Cultivating mindfulness, practicing self-compassion, and developing resilience are invaluable tools in managing fear. Techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, and reframing thoughts empower individuals to confront fears with greater ease. Don’t be afraid of failure. If there had been no fear of failure; neither would there be any joy in success. It’s the fear of what comes after the doing that makes the doing hard to do. Fear is temporary but regret is forever as it takes away all the opportunities, new experiences, new memories, our future and our success away from us. In this ongoing exploration, let us strive to not merely conquer fear, but to harness its energy, unlocking doors to resilience, courage, and personal growth. Never let fear decide your future. Chandrayaan 3 has proven that the sky is not the limit for ISRO; it's just the beginning. 13

E F F E C T O F A I 2 0 Y E A R S D O W N T H E L I N E wenty years down the line ..... Today AI has seeped into every aspect of our lives. The kids go to school only to be taught by an AI bot that learns their behavior patterns and produces a complex analysis of where the child is heading in the career aspect then tailors the syllabus accordingly. If the kid is great at drawing he’s encouraged to pursue art by exposure to world-class artists and their live courses through smart classrooms. All home appliances have AI integrated into their software making life even more easier than before. For example, the fridge now analyses the ingredients and gives a list of dishes that have a balance between tastiness and healthiness. The city has become safer as it’s entangled in a network of cameras that detect fires, crimes, break-ins, and other legal violations through AIML, enabling first responders and other security services to execute standard operating procedures without delay. In the automotive industry, the impact of AI is immeasurable, from setting the right driving position profile by face recognition to saving many lives by making decisions in a blitz. Even the basic car models today have driver assistance features like autonomous/driverless mode.Racers today practice with AI driving-style models of their opponents. There is also a race event where only AI cars race and it’s the most cutthroat race you’ll ever see!. The major driving forces of marketing such as advertising, and content writing have been mostly taken over by AI. However original content is still seen as an art just as we buy oil paintings even when we can print them.In the real estate sector, the newer buildings being designed using AI are safer, more beautiful, and make great use of available space as every possibility can be visualized and seen before even laying a brick on another. In the medical sector, AI has enabled accurate diagnosis within seconds of a scan and the operations are assisted by AI incrementing the success rate.A lot of jobs like handling nuclear waste, clearing garbage, sewage, and other things that involve risk to human life have been taken over by AI saving a lot of lives. T 14

Oceans have become a lot cleaner as autonomous drone ships guided by AI continuously sail the waters all year round clearing the water of plastic waste a seemingly impossible task for humans. Counterintuitively, the branch that created this brilliant technology i.e. Computer science engineering has reached a point of saturation as AI writes most of the basic code and there are only a precious few people capable of writing code that’s new and innovative. Job profiles have changed a lot. Workplaces demand a lot more creativity and an innovative approach from its employees as most of the hard work is taken care of by AI. As a combined result, all the products are made with excellent precision a million possibilities of their failure are already accounted for and solutions are generated making them paragons. However, there are two sides to any coin. Due to the major misuse of AI in videography, it has been limited by the law for good. These acts according to the new law are a punishable offense and using anyone’s data without their permission is registered as a felony. AI has reduced people’s social circles. The conversation bots tell you what you want to hear, making them far more appealing than people who might leave your side, point out your mistakes, and even judge you. In a retrospective view, it won’t be wrong to say that the person who changes with time and adapts can survive a great deal of modernization and lead a happy life. To summarise If we want to go from one place to another we can always walk, but still, we take a scooter or a transport because it conserves our energy for better and more productive tasks. The same man- machine team-up is advisable when using AI tools for work. This retains the originality of thoughts, and creativity and also makes meeting deadlines easier. Hopefully, you`ll make great use of the AI tools available to progress in your career and at the same time retain that spark to innovate or to kaizen. Raj Parlikar Mechanical - Sem 6 B 15

Home Home, Home isn’t something made of bricks or woods or stones, Or a building, Nor, a facade of how extravagant your lifestyle is. Home to me, is an emotion, An emotion that can be felt. Something so small yet powerful, So powerful that makes your sorrows and worries go away, Changes your perspective like a drone in the sky, Calms and cools you down like the sea breeze, Makes you feel warm like the fire, Nostalgic like a time traveller, Free like the wind in the sky. Such places or people shall always be held on tightly to, For change is always constant, But such things shall always make you feel alive, And eventually make you realise, Simple things always have the most impact. -Riyanka Dey A brown vinyl cover, and words, embedded. Words in gold, in black. Words meaning everything, and nothing. And at the ends metal, cold against warm skin. Pages thick, and heavy, and foxed and aged. As I flipped through, Reading, Reliving. And there it was, a red-yellow maple leaf. Under a night-stained blanket, a summer breeze came along. A month seemed like a year. A year, a decade. Forever. The brown bark turned white, and the leaves started falling, one, and another, and another. As I closed the book, with a leaf still there. And all I have left, A book, a leaf and a memory. -Md Tahir Shikalgar A Book, A leaf, and a Memory 16

Everyone, is war beneath, Trying to find what they truly seek. Through the hollows of the humid shadows, Every Soul seeks a light, Any streak will do for them, to make their swords bright. Tearing everything apart, Whatever comes their path, They march forward to succeed. But guess who wins the Quest? The one who cares for all, The one who only seeks to be genuine. The one whose sword is the brightest, To pave a path for all. The one who stiches, what has been torn apart, The one who ends all the wars, Is the one who has truly found, What the beauty of seeking is called. -Purvi Passi Seeker Muse Always the artist, who yearns to be the muse, the one wanting to experience love so hard, it leaves a bruise the one who wants to be likened to coffee, the color, the smell, the way it brews the one who wants to be observed, the small dimple on their left cheek when they smile, their furrowing eyebrows when they worry, their breath smelling like chamomile or maybe their eyes, when ink strokes can't compare to their lashes, and ink stains can't compare to their iris The guitar strings will brag about their presence, their beauty, their kindness, their very essence the sketchbooks, the paragraphs and the phone galleries Will they ever dictate of me with love and tenderness, Admiring my flaws, accepting my weakness? Across the void In shadows woven tight, where doubt held sway, Stan's troubled mind lost reason's gentle way. Words, like poisoned darts, pierced laughter's light, Pushed Riley distant, banished warmth and might. Empty chair, a phantom where shared joy would bloom, Echoes whisper tales, memories in a tomb. Stan's heart, a cavern, cold and ever deep, Yearns for Riley's laughter, friendship hard to keep. Yet, hope's a candle, flickering in the gloom, To bridge the chasm, mend the friendship's bloom. Untangle twisted threads, unveil the truth concealed, With open palms, let understanding wield. Uncertain paths, where Riley's journey goes, Will anger linger, or friendship's seed still grow? But still, hope whispers, a fragile, distant chime, That trust's bridge can span across the tide of time. So Stan will gather courage, voice a whispered plea, Across the silence, a message set to sea. For though the canyon yawns, with shadows in between, Friendship's embers flicker, a reunion yet unseen.
