Senior Pastor’s Report
This past year has been another testimony affirming the words of Jesus “I will build my
church”, Matt 16:18. Abraham saw by faith into the future this great building plan of Jesus, see
Heb 11:10 and Rev 21:9f. The Lighthouse Church in Kuwait is a portion of the big picture of what
God is doing around the world! How privileged we are to be a part of it in this time of history!
When Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave gifts to the church, Eph 4:7ff, for the purpose of
preparing the church for His return. It is a privilege to work with a team of Elders who are pas-
sionate to know and make known “the manifold wisdom of God”, Eph 3:10.
As we bring this reporting year to a close it is great to report of the unity of heart and mind
of the Council members. Each month ministry and department reports are reviewed, discussions
help and decisions made for the primary purpose of greater focus on and alignment to the
Great Command and Commission.
Our staff assists the leadership; of the TLC to ‘make things happen’. A big ‘Thank You’ firstly
to both administrators: Ministerial and Logistical. Then a thanks to the respective staff who report
to them. A revolving team of interns add a youthful vibrance to the staff dynamics! My wife
oversees the program and has a gift for encouraging those starting on, or trying to find, their
life’s career - thank you!
TLC is blessed with so many who volunteer their time in such a variety of ministries. Firstly
heartfelt thanks to the respective ministry leaders. For many it requires weekly or monthly dili-
gent, faithful commitment – ‘Thank You!’ Whether your team is large or small, all ministries to-
gether help TLC have a great impact in Kuwait and beyond. This magazine of reports is a col-
lective testimony of all volunteers in so many ministries.
As I write this report the world is in a global crisis health wise that is also wreaking havoc on
the economic stability of the nations. Truly our answers for calamity is found when we look to
God and His Word in faith for encouragement and strength at such a time as this. We have had
several times of Fasting & Prayer and will continue to do so, for in these times of self sacrifice, we
draw closer to the heart of God. As we are guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit we will
have the strength, courage and increasing faith to overcome all life’s storms.
With love and prayer,
Senior Pastor Gerald Golbeck

Ministerial Administrator’s Report
Church administration gives order and logistics to ministry, it helps churches grow. It
does not grow the church - God does that - but it helps churches grow evenly, neatly,
and this involves keeping orderly records.
If the Church is the vine (John 15), then administration is the trellis. The trellis doesn’t
exist for itself, but for the vine. No one admires a trellis, but behind every sturdy vine is an
admirable trellis. Without the trellis, the vine would be sprawled all over the place, tan-
gled and misshapen.
Water Baptism
Water Baptism is meant to testify to fellow be-
lievers that you have been born again, have died
to self and have risen to the Lordship of Christ.
Water Baptism does not make you a believer;
it shows that you already are a committed believ-
er! Baptism does not ‘save’ you; only your faith in
Christ does that. Baptism confirms our position ‘in
Christ’ and affirms the blessings of the Father on us as His children. Twenty-one believers
were water baptized in 2019.

Kairos Youth Report
“Let no man despise thy youth;

The Kairos Youth meets every
Friday from 11:45am – 1:30 pm at
the Fellowship Hall. We are small in
number, but nevertheless experi-
ence God’s presence amidst us.
The year 2019 began with a teach-
ing seminar on October 4th &-5th
for youth leaders. Our guest speakers were Dr Sushil, Robert Bailey and Pastor Bailey.
A parent- leaders interaction night was conducted on November 23rd , which was
a gathering to know the parents of our youth better.
We also had a visit from John who runs a drug -rehabilitation unit. He shared his
God -story of how God transformed a skeptic to reach out to some of the most helpless
in hostile and war- torn countries of the world.
On the home front, we had the bible study on the book of James. Many relevant
questions were brought out by our youth. This was encouraging for us, as youth leaders
to see that our teens are able to receive a
biblical viewpoint on the circumstances sur-
rounding them.
Our teens also had a great time of
bowling at the Kuwait Bowling & Sporting
Club in Salmiya. Enthusiasm was high as
the teams were organized and games
were played out.
We trust God to bring in the harvest as
we continue to work among our teens . We
would also encourage you to participate to encourage your teens with the Word of
God before they step out into the world.

January 2019 - began our 2nd part of the Bible
Study - “Deeper Still” on Anointed - Transformed &
Redeemed. This was a study of David by the fol-
lowing speakers: Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore and
Kay Arthur.
March 2019 - we had our annual Retreat in
Divvan Hall with our Guest speaker Rachel Hickson.
We were greatly blessed with the messages - special numbers - food & fellowship! In May we
concluded the year with a Finale’ and Mrs. Nikki Segun as our Speaker.
“If you prize wisdom, she will exalt you; Embrace her and she will honor you She will place
a lovely wreath on your head; She will present you with a beautiful crown.”
Proverbs 4:8 - 9
Our new year began in October with an Autumn Tea and our speaker was Mrs. Taniya
Abraham. It was a great time to be together again after the summer. Our Bible study this year
started in October and will go till April 2020. It is from Laurie Cole’s teachings entitled “Beauty by
the Book” - taken from the book of Proverbs. Laurie presents 5 women in her study: the Immoral
Woman, the indiscrete Woman, the Irritating Woman, the Captivating Woman and the Ideal
Woman.
We had 2 of the studies last year in October and November and in December we had our
Christmas special with Mrs. Mariska Hugo as our Speaker.
The Wellsprings Ministry ministers to women and our retreats are the time we invite other
churches to come as they were once a part of this ministry. Many different speakers have come
over the years to bless us in our Retreats. We are still hoping to be able to celebrate the 25th An-
niversary in 2020!
God has richly blessed this Women’s Ministry and it is a special ministry where women come
to be refreshed and loved. Wellsprings is truly a well - a spring of refreshing water to women who
come to be blessed.

Bethel Library Report
The Bethel Library, located in heart of the Lighthouse Admin building, supports the
Church in its mission to be Bible-Based, Jesus-Focused and Holy Spirit-Led through ad-
vancing learning and knowledge in the Word of God.
The library has regularly updated the stock of books and video DVD’s. The role of
this ministry is to provide a cost-effective source of Christian books and video sources to
help believers grow in their faith and in righteousness.
We believe that God’s plan and purpose will be advanced through individuals
and the Church body as a whole. This ministry is a silent one which has touched and
transformed many lives, at present there are 122 members who visit us regularly.
This year the Library committee has combined with the Shepherd Shoppe commit-
tee and Book Fair as we share common goals to spread the Gospel and reach the un-
reached. The Library has been carrying resources from our conference speakers of this
past year as well as regularly being stocked with new books coming through Shepherd
Shoppe.
The Library has over 4915 books and over 120+ new books stocked this year in vari-
ous categories. It continues to establish itself as one of the primary resources of Christian
materials in Kuwait and is dedicated to helping believers grow in maturity.
For the first time The Bethel Library

Mercy Fund Report
The Mercy Fund is a ministry whose mission is to provide financial aid to members
of TLC who have financial needs arising from unforeseen events.
During the year 2019, the ministry reached out to 5 members within the church
and disbursed a total amount of KD 1,320. Amongst those assisted was a tailor, who
had lost all his tools and his sewing machine. Funds were disbursed through the Mercy
Fund to help him to start anew and buy a new sewing machine.
The Mercy Fund was also able to reach out to another individual who was in dire
need of financial help when his mother passed away and his son was taken ill from a
brain hemorrhage soon after. Funds were provided to him so that a portion of the fu-
neral expense and the surgery expenses could be met.

Philippine Embassy Ministry Report
The Philippine Embassy Ministry is an excellent opportunity to minister, add value and serve
others! We were able to minister and bless the runaway maids who needed our help, support,
and prayers. This ministry has gone on for around three decades.
Through the preaching of the gospel, they have been touched and transformed. Some of
them now have been repatriated back to the Philippines.
1. In Philippine Embassy, there were over four hundred runaway maids. Recently one hun-
dred of them have been sent back to Philippines.
2. Hundreds of Bibles have been distributed and hundreds more have given their lives to
Jesus.
3. One miracle happened among one lady who was beaten up by her employer. Her
arm was dislocated. After praying and laying hands on her, on the following week she
gave a testimony that the pain was gone and the Lord had healed her completely.
This ministry was halted over a year, but through prayers and God's power, the ministry has
reinstated back. We have Bible Study’s every Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., and Medical
Missions every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Professional doctors, nurses,
counselors, and pastors can make a difference in these ladies lives through volunteering and
blessing the runaway maids medically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually.
God blesses us to be a blessing to those who are poor, widowed, orphaned, unfortunate,
distressed, abused, and those who are in need. You can donate the following sanitary napkins,
toothbrush & toothpaste, soap, shampoo, face towels & used clothes, travel bags, shoes and
cash. Please continue to pray for this ministry.

brothers or sisters of mine, you did for me.’"

Prison Ministry Report
“I was in prison and you came to Me.” Mat 25:36
Kuwait Prison Ministry was started in 1998 on a very small level. We thank God for Pastor
Amanuel Ghareeb, it is because of his involvement this ministry has taken off. Recently God has
opened doors to visit Christian brothers and sisters behind bars every Wednesday. We have
been able to regularly visit the Public and Central Prison for men, the Women, and the Deporta-
tion Centers for both men and women in Jleeb Al Shuyoukh.
In our visits, we have been sharing the Word of God, praying with them, distributing Bibles,
and serving the Lord’s Supper. We made 42 visits for the year 2019 and ministered to 670 broth-
ers and sisters in prisons including repeated visits to longer-term prisoners. We also distributed
293 Bibles as well as 50 Daily Bread devotionals.
God has blessed this ministry with growth by adding a fifth visit every month, and we seek
to grow further by better serving our brothers and sisters behind bars. We kindly ask for your con-
tinued support through volunteering and prayers. If you would like to be involved in the Prison
Ministry, kindly contact me at 965 66390430 .

Someone Cares Ministry is a part of TLC missions reaching out to the poor and needy of the
land. The church provides finances to buy toiletries, garments and basic needs for those in hospi-
tals, and deportation centres. Aside from giving gifts, patients are encouraged and given hope
that somebody cares for them and are
never forgotten by our Lord and our God.
Most of them are touched specially after
prayers. By our constant visits, even the
Hospital staff can feel the compassion of
our Lord Jesus.
We thank God also that we are able
to give Bibles, toiletries, clothing, etc. and
share the gospel in Jleeb Shelter for the
runaway maids. Truly, love is the language
understood by all.
We conducted 6 visits in 2019 and
visited 1,977 inmates in Jleeb Shelter as well as to Shuaikh deportation centre. We gave out socks
during the winter as well as gowns for the ladies and hygienic packs for both men and women.
We also provided multi-language Bibles in good condition. Our goal is to pray for needs, be po-
lite and patient and listen to individual stories.
Our budget was KD 4,800/year and our expenditures were KD 3,476.270.

Public Services Report
This year was marked by a smooth transition in extending our service times to two hours in-
stead of the one and half hours that each service was given in the past. The positive results are
each service now has more time for a response and prayer time and a less rushed atmosphere.
We thank the congregants for their cooperation in making this change which has benefited
those preaching, leading music and also for our sound and media team.
Currently we have eight public services on a weekend between the compound and our
extension in Mishref. Our elders continue their messages based on preparing expositional mes-
sages that unpack the scriptures in practical application to life’s issues that we all face. Each ser-
vice is going through various Bible books and currently we have five core elders overseeing all
the services. Through various preaching and leadership seminars we have raised up a core lead-
ership team of approximately 60 mature men and women who are involved in our public ser-
vices.
As we move forward as a leadership team our emphasis is on recognizing that we are a
called out ‘Ekklessia’ a holy people called to walk in faith with our faithful and miracle working
God. Each service is a time for us to be refreshed, renewed and challenged to draw closer to
God in living and walking in true righteousness. This is what makes us shine in a fallen world. Pre-
service prayer prepares our hearts as a service team to present our selves as an offering to God’s
service and creates a spiritual atmosphere that invites the Holy Spirit’s presence.
Our dedicated musicians, lead us into the presence of God in singing praise and worship
songs unto our Lord. This prepares our hearts to receive the word in such a way that it brings
transformation and maturity in applying God’s truth to our every day lives. Our communion times
together are rich and meaningful as we take time to remember the price Jesus paid for our sins.
Each year as elders, we call for seasons of prayer and fasting which has increased our spir-
itual fervor for the Lord and His word. This year we started bringing the children forward to be
prayed for before starting their Friday & Sunday school. This encourages them in recognizing they
are part of us and gives them a sense of belonging and being valued by the congregation.
It takes many volunteers and staff to conduct every service and each person’s contribution
to God’s kingdom work is highly valued! Thank you: Ushers, Service Leaders & Elders, Musicians,
Communion Servers, Sound & Media, Facilities, Office Staff & Volunteers (great bulletins!), Ad-
ministration! Thank you for your words of encouragement to them and remember there is always

Human Resources
Human resources, generally, is used to describe both the people who work for an organi-
zation and the department responsible for managing resources related to employees ie hu-
man capital. At The Lighthouse Church, the HR Committee administers the HR management
role via the Church administrator for day to day operations.
The HR Committee focuses on:
• Recruiting and staffing- managed by systematic search tools, a 3 stage interview exercise
and a transparent identification process.
• Compensation and benefits- strictly managed in line with Kuwait Labor Law and in consul-
tation with the church council.
• Training and learning- A weekly staff development program conducted by Sr. Pastor Ger-
ald and Mrs. Patricia are excellent learning opportunities with fun and games.
• Labor and employee relations- Administrator is entrusted with the task of weekly meetings
with department supervisors ensuring staff concerns are raised, addressed and escalated
( where necessary) to the concerned leaders.
• Organization development- HR committee is effectively working towards finalizing the TLC
Staff Manual which will soon be published.
• We as a Church would like to thank those who served the Church faithfully and had to
move on due to their personal reasons and invite those on board. We pray that God shall
guide and lead them in all their future endeavors.
In addition to the above, to ensure that the Church’s mission and vision are accom-
plished the Lighthouse Church is greatly indebted to the Elders and Council for their guidance
and direction as well as the Sr. Pastor for his vision and leadership. Our senior pastor believes in
strong spiritual training for staff which helps them understand and move ahead more effective-

Neck Common Council
We are blessed to be part the National Evangelical Church of Kuwait and the
many churches that gather here weekly. We are indeed a busy place in God’s kingdom
where thousands gather each week to give God glory in a beautiful array of languages,
music styles and modes of worship.
We thank God for the unity in such a diverse body of believers. The Common
Council is represented by three representatives from the three core congregations: ALC,
KTMCC and ELC (Lighthouse is the English Language Congregation). Another year of
unity was displayed by the cooperation of large public events such as the Unity Confer-
ence, premier Movie ‘Like Arrows’ and our Harvest Festival.
We are also thankful for the Common Council work to ensure that a new parking
plan was put in place as our parking area is being currently shared with a major building
project nearby. As we cooperate with government bodies we are indeed shining our
light. In the current health crisis we are demonstrating cooperation in abiding by the
Ministry of Health directives. We are thankful for Pastor Amanuel Ghareeb’s leadership
role in promoting good will with various government bodies and with the larger faith
community in Kuwait.
We are also thankful to the various government ministries for great cooperation
throughout the year and in particular during our large celebrations at Easter and Christ-
mas. May the Lord continue to bless this excellent cooperation!
As the founding church of the NECK compound the Lighthouse Church plays a vital
role in promoting unity among the 80+ churches and ministries on this compound. On
February 25th we celebrated NECK’s annual “Unity” conference with representatives
from all these churches. These endeavors remind us of our common goal as the body of
Christ — the Great Command and Great Commission. We are blessed to have our facili-
ties to gather together in freedom and we pray a blessing on the Kuwait governance
for this freedom.
A Word of thanks to Nick Forbess and Ezekiel Tuma who faithfully represent TLC in the
Common Council meetings.
