Factors Affecting the Shape of Shadows
1. Please do this activity, record your
observation in the table given.
2. Write the report in Science

Factors affecting the size of a shadow are:
• Distance of an object from the light source
• Distance of object from the screen
Conclusion:
• The further the distance of an object from the light source, the smaller the size of the
shadow.
• The further the distance of object from the screen, the bigger the size of the shadow.
Factors affecting the shape of a shadow are:
• Orientation of the object
• Position of the light source
Conclusion:
• If the orientation of the object is change, the shape of the shadow will change.
• If the position of the light source is change, the shape of the shadow will change.
