INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Seven ways to make your
year count.
You can make a great difference this
year. You know, it is the years that
make your life. Your past is made up
of years past; and your future is made
up of years to come.
Who you are today is a product of
what you’ve put in, what you’ve reaped
or what you’ve experienced in the
years past. Who you will be tomorrow
will depend to a large extent on what
you do or experience today.
What you make of your year is
important, it can add or subtract from
your life.

I have written this book to help you
make your year count. I have written it
to help release that special dream that
God has placed on your inside. Find
time to carefully read through every
chapter of this gold mine, and find
time to do what it says.
This is your year to make a great
difference and this book contains time-
tested truths that will help you make
that difference. Read it over and over
and go ahead to make that difference
in every great way you can.
Welcome!

Chapter One
You Need a Vision
What is the first thing you need to do
to make your year count?
The first thing you need to do or you
will need to make your year count is a
Vision. You need a vision; you need to
see. There is no better way to start
your year than do this.
Learn to create a picture in your mind
of what you want for the year God has
permitted you to see. How do you
want your life to be this year? Have you
asked yourself? Can you create a
picture of how you want your life to
be?
What you see is what you will pursue
and what you pursue is what you will

get. But it all begins with vividly
creating in your mind’s eye a picture of
what you want life to look like this
year. This is what vision is all about.
A Vision is creating a picture within
you of what you want to do, what you
want to accomplish, or what you want
to become. Your vision defines your
expectations within the year.
Your vision at the beginning of the
year gives you an idea of what you
want your life to look like throughout
the year. Assuming you have the vision
to buy a new 14-inches television set in
the new year, you do not just stumble
on a new pair of shoes of the same
price and pay for it. Oh no!
Your vision regulates your budget.
Your vision regulates your life. You
must know what you want to do, what
8|Page
you want to get, what you want to
accomplish, what you want to become.
You must know this to start your year
on the right footing.
A vision is as powerful as life! The man
with a vision can live unstoppable, live
without limits, and live alive. The man
without a vision has a life as cheap as
that of a little chick with some kind of
unknown and uncertain future.
To really add value to your life and
your year, you must have a vision. You
must first create your vision and then
let your vision create you. What does
this mean? It means you must fashion
out what you want to do and let your
entire being - your spirit, soul, and
body - move towards it until it is
accomplished.

Refuse Smallness!
Your vision must not be necessarily
limited to your resources. In fact, your
vision should be bigger than you.
Stretch out to reach something bigger;
refuse smallness!
Don’t base your vision for the year
only on what you now have or what
you can see. The real things we
accomplish in life do not emanate
from what we can tangibly see. The
greater accomplishments come from
what we cannot see, yet believe we can
have.
If you really want to see if you can
swim, why frustrate yourself with
shallow water?
Include in your vision things that are
bigger than you; things that your
fragile mind or that of others could
10 | P a g e
easily tag ‘impossible.’ Go after them
and reveal the genius in you.
See the Impossible!
If you really want to go forward in life,
you need a vision of the impossible.
To do the incredible, you must first
dream the impossible. If you can
dream it, then you can do it! Everyone
could think you are mad. Well, those
who dance are always thought mad by
those who do not hear the music.
To really go forward this year, you’ve
got to be an optimist, never believe
that anything you have slated out to do
is impossible.
Scientists and animal experts have
emphatically stated that it is
impossible for the bumblebee to fly
11 | P a g e
because it has small wings and a big
body. But the bumblebee does not
know that; so it flies anyway!
Go after your dreams and visions for
the year, even those that people say are
impossible. Find a way, and where
there is no way, make a way. The world
stands aside to let anyone pass who
knows where he is going!
Develop a vision, develop a goal, and
go after it!

Before proceeding to the next chapter,
take a little time to really think about
what you wish to accomplish with your
life in the next 12 months.

Chapter Two
Get a Sheet
Something else you’ll need to make
your year count - a second thing - is a
Sheet: A sheet of paper, a stylus, or
anything you can write with.
You really need a sheet!
Now listen to this! Until you commit
your visions to paper, you merely have
intentions that are seeds without soil.
Your visions seem more realistic and
energizing when you commit them to
paper.
Committing your visions to paper is
like planting a viable seed. There is
real power in a small sheet. Writing
your visions on paper also writes them
on your mind and brain.
14 | P a g e
From the moment you commit your
visions to paper or write them down,
everything in nature conditions you
for the fulfillment of those visions.
Your eyes begin to pick on things that
are relevant to the fulfillment of your
visions. Your ears begin to hear the
facts you need, to move towards
fulfilling them. Your nostrils can sense
the smell of the right people who will
help you get there when they are
around you.
When you write down the things you
want, you assume control over them.
For instance, if you picked a pen while
you are listening to me, and write
down the kind of clothing you need
this month, you would discover what
power that would have over you.
15 | P a g e
There might not be any money at
hand but somehow, after you have
written down what you need, you
discover how attracted you are to the
exact kind of clothes whenever you
step out. It begins to key into your
mind, the major places you may have
to go and get them when you are
ready.
You know something? Before you
realize, it has become a need that is
past.
Why?
Because the day you wrote it down on
paper, you also wrote it on your mind.
From that day, your mind became
super-focused.
I have personally developed the
attitude of writing down the peculiar
electronic gadgets I’d like to buy in a
16 | P a g e
year, the kind of suits I’d like to wear,
the kind of books I’d like to focus on
for the year, the kind of investments
I’d like to plunge my cash, the kind of
friends I’d like to do away with, and
the kind I’d like to get close to.
I find that it is a lot easier to be
focused on what I want and get them
when they are written down. The same
goes when you write down your
challenges, your visions, or things you
want to do. It completely energizes you
to fulfill them.
Just take a little exercise right now:
Write down five things you want to
have this month. On the other hand,
take note in your mind of five things
you want to do this month.
Keep looking at what you have written,
time after time, day by day, morning
17 | P a g e
by morning. Also, keep reminding
yourself of the five things in your mind
you would like to do.
At the end of the month, find out
which of the two you much easily
accomplished. You’d discover you
accomplished more of what you had
written down than what you merely
had in mind to do.
When you write down the things you
want to do in a day, they are much
easily accomplished than when you
just think about doing them. When
you write down the things you want to
accomplish in a week, they are easily
accomplished, too.
When you write down the challenges
you want to surmount in a month, the
process of surmounting begins
immediately you drop the pen.
18 | P a g e
When you write down the things you
want to accomplish in a year, you
already have something pushing you
towards their accomplishment.
When you write down your visions,
you make yourself unstoppable!
Now, write down visions that pertain
to every area of your life - physical,
spiritual, material, financial, social, etc.
Have you been far away from God?
What would you do to get closer to
Him this year? Write it down.
Have you been bad at handling
money? Well, many people are, of
course. So what would you do to be a
better financial manager? Write it
down.
Have you had serious ups and downs
in your relationships? What were the
19 | P a g e
causes? What would you do to handle
your relationships better? Write it
down.
Did you get some bad grades in school
last year? It’s all right; so many people
did, too. So, what were the likely
causes? How would you avoid them?
Write it down.
You may need a little notebook or
notepad to do this. You will need
time, too. But, while people wander
around aimlessly, doing nothing, you
may have a nice time doing this.
Finally, after writing down your
visions, you must commit to reading
your visions to yourself time after time,
to see if you are still on track while the
year runs.
20 | P a g e
Take Action
Before proceeding to the next chapter,
please do exactly what you have read:
Write down your goals, visions, and
plans for this year. First, write out the
different areas of your life that need
particular attention. Then write visions
and plans for these areas first, before
delving into other areas.
If you need help to do this, please refer to
the “Seven Ways To Make Your Year
Count Workbook.” A link at the end of
this book will refer to where you can obtain
one.
