The number of faces refers to thedifferent patterns printed on a tile.More faces mean less repetition and a more realistic, natural look.Quality tiles usually feature varied faces for added authenticity.104Alsacia29.8x59.9cm59.9x59.9cm60x120cmAruba23x27cmAspen100x100cmBaklania60x120cmBali30x60cmBulevar Decor10x30cmBlack Gold60x120cmCaracalla29.2x59.2cm59.2x60cm60x120cmClassic Estaturio30x60cm60x60cm60x120cmDiamond Gold7.5x30cm30x60cm60x60cm60x120cmEmber30x90cm60x60cmEnglish Stone30x60cm60x60cm60x120cm3624127941212630201012841612122032301284Etna33x66cm60x120cmFlowers60x120cmGalaxy60x120cmGarden60x120cmGold Calacatta60x120cmLuxor30x60cm60x60cm60x120cmMetallic Blue60x120cmMilas60x120cmMilkyway60x120cmMonolith60x60cm60x120cmMustang29.6x60cm60x60cm60x120cmOlympia60x60cm60x120cmOnyx Dawn60x120cmPacific60x120cm106210115168466616815105641212Patine15x15cmPayas30x60cmSagano20x120cm60x120cmSilk Onyx30x60cm (C)60x60cm (P)60x120cm (P)Silver Quartz30x60cm60x60cm60x119.8cmSteady Marble30x60cm (C)30x60cm (P)60x60cm (P)60x120cm (P)Superb Marquina60x120cmVarenna30x60cm59.5x59.5cm59.5x120cmMaterial KeyCeramicPorcelain11101231210610-1210-124-6108876362412(C)(P)Tile Faces
105Some of our ranges require sealing before grouting. We recommend LTP Porcelain Tile Protector for anyinterior & exterior slip resistant and textured surfacetiles—this will make it easier to remove grout residue. All natural stone products require sealing beforegrouting, and again after the tiles have been installed. There are different finishes you can apply:LTP Mattstone Matt FinishLTP Ironwax Satin FinishLTP Ironwax Gloss FinishLTP Colour IntensifierTile Care & SealingSome of our porcelain ranges require sealing before grouting to prevent tile staining. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for proper sealing and allow the sealant to dry before grouting. It is recommended to reseal the tiles after grouting and cleaning to ensure both the tiles and grout are adequately protected. Test the need for resealing by placing a small amount of water on the tiles and checking if it is absorbed. If absorption occurs, resealing is necessary.Porcelain & Ceramic Tiles:LTP Porcelain Floor Tile CleanerCleaning Natural Stone Tiles:LTP WaxwashNatural stones may contain traces of iron that can oxidise, causing rust and brown staining. Oxidation occurs when stones contact moisture (e.g., rain, cleaning) or acid-based cleaners.LTP Ferrex
106Technical InformationPorcelain tiles often have a protective coat of transit wax to prevent scratching during transportation. It’s important to remove this wax before grouting, especially for unglazed tiles that can be stained by coloured grouts. To remove the wax, use a mild abrasive cleaning product like Microscrub. Apply it to wet tiles, gently scrub with a pad or machine, and avoid excessive force. After removing the wax, clear any residue from tiles and gaps, rinse with water, and dry the floor.Conduct a patch test and follow manufacturer’s instructions when using cleaning products.Removing Wax CoatingsPorcelain is actually a type of ceramic, the main characteristics of which are low porosity (absorption rates of less than 0.5%) and colour that penetrates the entire body of the tile, rendering it very durable. Porcelain can be either glazed or unglazed depending on the desired look and intended use. What is Porcelain?Grade 1 - Light domestic use - barefoot or soft footwear, i.e. bathrooms and bedrooms.Grade 2 - Moderate domestic traffic - tiles suited to use in the home except in areas where there is direct access to outside such as hallways and kitchens.Grade 3 - All domestic use - Suitable for all areas of the home including kitchens and hallways.Grade 4 - Tiles suitable for domestic and public use where moderate to heavy traffic occurs, i.e. Hotel lobbies, restaurants and supermarkets.Grade 5 - Tiles suitable for all types of use weather, domestic or in public areas of heavy traffic.Floor Tile PEI RatingsThe latest tiles are produced using inkjet technology which can print exact reproductions of natural stone or wood in very high definition even on tiles with uneven surfaces, making them difficult to tell apart from the real thing.Ink Jet PrintingThese tiles are extremely durable and frost proof. The initial tile is matt in finish. The same tile can then be either semi or fully polished. Polishing unglazed porcelain results in a high gloss finish. Unfortunately, polished porcelains are more susceptible to staining because dirt gets trapped in the opened surface pores. Sealants or other pre-surface treatments can prevent this problem as a routine re-application of the protective treatment is maintained.Unglazed PorcelainThese tiles have a glaze applied over the porcelain body and it is therefore the glaze’s hardness that determines where the tile can be used, in the same way as normal ceramic tiles. Some glazed porcelain can be used outside as the body is frost resistant.Glazed PorcelainCeramic tiles are a popular type of flooring and wall covering material made from a mixture of clay, minerals, and water. These components are shaped into tiles and then fired at high temperatures in a kiln to harden them. Ceramic tiles are known for their durability, versatility, and aesthetic appeal. What is Ceramic?Sugar glaze tiles are a specific type of ceramic tile that features a unique, semi-polished finish resembling the crystalline, slightly textured surface you might see on a sugar-coated sweet. The “sugar glaze” effect is achieved through a special glazing process that creates a slightly rough, sparkling surface on the tile, similar to the look of granulated sugar.Sugar Glaze/Semi Polished
107There are various ways of measuring slip resistance. Two of the most commonly seen in this country are the pendulum test and the ramp test. We have used ramp test ratings throughout the brochure where available. The dry ramp test measures slip resistance for areas of wet shoe traffic. The R value is greater in areas of higher resistance to slipping. The wet ramp test measures slip resistance for areas where people will be walking with wet bare feet. It is measured in values of A to C. A is suitable for mainly water splash areas for example bathrooms, B is for pool surroundings, shower areas etc and C is for walk through pools, ramps into pools etc.Slip ResistanceTiles are produced in batches, and a degree ofshading is inherent in the manufacturing process. It is important to examine the tiles and make sure thatthere is an acceptable blend of shades before startingto tile.It is important to note that calibration and shading arenot the only factors to consider when choosingceramic or porcelain tiles. Other factors such asdurability, slip resistance, and suitability for differentapplications should also be taken into account. While efforts are made to sort and grade tiles tominimize shading, some degree of variation is to beexpected. Please ensure that you purchase enough tilesfor the job, as we cannot guarantee thatsubsequent batches will be exactly the same shade. We recommend that you read and understand anydisclaimers or warnings provided by the manufacturerof the tiles before purchasing or using them. These may include information about recommendeduses, limitations, and precautions to take duringinstallation and use.In no event will we be liable for any loss or damagearising from the use of this information. This allows for minimal grout lines, giving a clean and seamless appearance when installed.Rectified TilesNon-rectified tiles are tiles that retain their natural, slightly uneven edges after firing. They may vary slightly in size, which typically requires wider grout lines during installation, resulting in a more traditional or rustic finish.Non-rectified Tiles
