FAMILY
All of us grew up here in Manila together, with my father’s side
living in the same house or what we called an extended family. I
grew up playing with my cousins and creating memories together
with them. We had a thing annually as a family to travel or have an
outing to bond and talk.

The Reason Why I'm Here
My father is a 57-year-old freelance driver, while
my mother is a 54-year-old nurse working in a
government hospital. My family belongs to the
middle class, and we grew up knowing how to
balance our finances and our wants and needs. My
siblings and I were all taught to become decent
human beings. I am who I am right now, holding

HOW PANDEMIC
CHANGED MY LIFE
On March 20, 2020, the Philippine
government declared a state of emergency,
followed by a protracted community
quarantine lasting at least a year and a half.
Thus, the epidemic has transformed me in
such a manner that I no longer recognize
myself, and not just myself, but everything
around us, has changed dramatically since
the pandemic began.
Before the pandemic, I was socially active
and loved engaging with other people. I was
very active, academically. At first, I thought a
pandemic would be wonderful for my
introverted spirit since we'd have more time
to bond with my family - play board games
and such - and I'd have more time to focus
on my mental health and simply chill with
my life without worrying about academic
deadlines and responsibilities.
However, years had gone and I yearned to
speak with my loved ones. Day after day, I
found myself peering out the window, gazing
at the sky, and wondering when we would all
act normally again.
"Every little thing
gonna be alright!"

Birds"

The pandemic has also been a CHANGE
nightmare because one of my favorite
ways to unwind is to go swimming. Lastly, with the pandemic and all, I am
Swimming has become my stress persuaded that I am running out of time

sports that could be played in our nowhere, pondering everything that has
home to fill the need. I learnt to play happened. Nonetheless, I end up

table tennis, as well as to cope with difficult situations than we do when

something new rather than what i I discovered a power within myself that I
already know. had never known existed, and with it, I
was able to push through the obstacle,
keep battling, and be so much stronger
than I had ever been before. The
pandemic had its drawbacks: I lost who I
was, but it also made me who I am now:
physically and emotionally stronger than
ever. It also assisted me in regaining
what I had previously lost.

If you were to have a If I could change something in my past or
superpower, what is it present, I would surely change the way I
in your past year or was. I grew up terrified of everyone,
present that you unable to enjoy life because I was too
would wish to change? concerned about other people's opinions.
Why? And it had such an impact on me that I
couldn't figure out who I was.
I'd like to warn my younger self that you
will come to a moment in your life where
you will lose your passion, and your belief
in better days ahead, you will be
wounded, a lot, and you will lose trust in
the healing process. However, you should
refrain from destroying your present and
future just because of what happened in
the past.
I'd like to change how you were so good
to others that it slowly destroyed you. I'd
want to change the way you see life - all
dark and dreary since you couldn't see the
sunny side as you got older. You're there,
caught in the same darkness, too afraid to
leave your comfort zone because you're
lost in the present. Still seeking a way out
of the darkness so she may live her life
fully.

SUPERPOWER
If you have the power to make things remain as they are, on what aspect of
your life would you like to apply it?
"Remember this: Be kind to
your mind."
– @reallygreatsite
If I have the power to make things remain as they are, I’d
like to apply it to my sense of self and principles. To be
honest, I haven’t grasped yet about my own identity. All
I know is I am a whole person all on my own. I have this
attitude to go with the flow and it is what it is. It is toxic
sometimes, I admit. But it saved me multiple times. I
only care about myself and sometimes people’s opinions.
I have a good relationship with my loved ones and I’d
like to make things remain as they are. I am content with
the way I live my life right now.

magic
of the season."
AS IT WAS
I live a simple life — a life devoid of color and depressingly
boring — yet if there is one thing I am proud of, it is that I
am the sort of person that most people wish to have. Getting
butterflies does not appeal to me as someone who is reserved.
It is not my style to make people nervous every time we touch
or to make their heads go in a loop for several hours after we
chat, and instead of unbalancing the waves they produce, I
like swimming in them. I believe it is also my competence to
soften rough edges, softly caress the rib cages of worn souls,
and guarantee that their hearts beat steadily.
