MAXWELL RYAN LEVINE, son of Pamela Feifer and Daniel Levine, celebrated his Bar Mitzvah on August 26, 2017,
Parashat Shoftim. Sharing in this simcha was his brother James, proud grandparents Carole and Herbert Feifer, Sharon and
Iven Levine, and great-grandmother Helen Hefter. Sadly missed at this time were great-grandparents Mona and Sydney
Deskin, Ida and Nathan Feifer, Joseph Hefter and Lola and Morris Levine. Max is a graduate of Solomon Schechter Academy
and is presently in grade 8 at Lower Canada College where he enjoys science, music and playing for the LCC Lions hockey
team. Max enjoys time with his dog Riley, soccer, football, Xbox, and always likes a good challenge at cards, backgammon
or chess. Max will continue to volunteer for the Waldorf senior residence where his great-grandmother currently resides.
EYTAN SIGMAN ZLOTNIK, son of Terry Sigman and Mitchell Zlotnik, will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on September 2,
2017, Parashat Ki Teitzei. He is sharing this simcha with his older brothers Jonathan and Noah, his grandparents Maxine and
Harvey Sigman and Libby and Israel Zlotnik, his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Eytan attends Bialik High School and
spends his summers at Camp Massad. He enjoys spending time with his friends, watching musical theatre, singing, gaming
and playing basketball. Eytan is twinning his Bar Mitzvah with a boy who perished in the Holocaust and was unable to be Bar
Mitzvah. His mitzvah projects have included delivering food for MADA, baking food for Kerry’s Kitchen and hamentashen
for Save a Child’s Heart Foundation, and this summer in Israel he volunteered picking vegetables for the needy at Leket Israel
and packed Shabbat boxes for families who are victims of terror.
LOGAN SALPETER, son of Tanya and Andrew Salpeter, will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on September 9, 2017, Parashat Ki
Tavo. Sharing in this simcha are brothers Tyler and Dylan, grandparents Linda Keating and Kay and Edward Salpeter, as well
as his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Logan attends St. George's High School, and is an avid baseball player, alpine skier,
and cyclist. Logan also enjoys listening to music and spending time with his friends. He recently raised funds and completed
a 50k cycling fundraiser to support pediatric cancer research.
CARTER FERSTEN, son of Jody and Mitchell Fersten, will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on October 20, 2017, Rosh Chodesh
Cheshvan. Sharing in this celebration are his siblings Meghan and Riley, grandmothers Miriam Shugar and Hedie Fersten as
well his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sadly missed at this time are grandfathers Julius Fersten and Philip Shugar. Carter
spends his summers at Camp Wingate and will be starting Grade 8 at Lower Canada College in September. Carter enjoys
playing hockey, football and lacrosse. He also loves waterskiing, biking and hanging out with his friends.
NOAH EZRA GOODMAN, son of Dana and Jonathan Goodman, will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on October 28, 2017,
Parashat Lech Lecha. Sharing in this celebration are his siblings Lilah and Orly, great-grandmother Betty Scott, grandparents
Judy and Mark Caplan, Morris Goodman and Lillian Vineberg, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sadly missed
is Noah's grandmother Rosalind Goodman, great-grandmother Phyllis Kanigsberg, and great-grandfather Nathan Scott.
Noah proudly attends Herzliah High School in Grade 8. When Noah is not focused on improving his boxing technique, he is
refining the art of negotiation. For his Bar Mitzvah project, Noah will be organizing a fundraiser to benefit the CAPS Jewish
Day School Tuition Assistance Program at CJA.
MITCHELL PHILIP VINEBERG, son of Samantha and Justin Vineberg, will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on November
4, 2017, Parashat Vayera. Sharing in this celebration are his sister Joelle, grandparents Elaine and Barry Mintz and Rhoda and
Robert Vineberg and proud great grandmother Ruth Fleisher. Mitchell loves to spend his summers at Camp Walt Whitman
and is in Grade 7 at Selwyn House School. He enjoys playing football and baseball and spending time with his family and
friends. Mitchell is a member of the Shaar Youth Choir and was a group leader for the playground leadership program at
Selwyn House School.
RACHEL SOFIA KORENBLIT, daughter of Inna Nekhim and Dmitry Korenblit, will celebrate her Bat Mitzvah on
November 10, 2017. Sharing in this simcha are her sister Arielle, brother Eli, grandparents Irina and Anatoly Nekhim, Manya
and Semyon Korenblit and her great-grandparents Lubov and Leonid Sokolsky and Sarah Nekhim, as well as her aunt and
uncle. Sadly missed at this time is Rachel’s great-grandfather Leonid Nekhim. Rachel is in Grade 6 at St. George’s Elementary
School, where she is involved in different sports and afterschool activities, including basketball, art, and dance. She cares
about the environment and volunteers her time with her school’s Green Team, developing projects and raising money for the
cause. She is an avid reader, loyal friend and a caring big sister. Rachel is excited to celebrate this special milestone with her
family and friends and is looking forward to becoming an active member of the Shaar Hashomayim community.

RYAN DAVID COHEN, son of Sheryl and Robert Cohen, will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on November 11, 2017, Parashat
Chaye Sarah. Sharing in this joyous occasion are his sisters, Alyssa and Arielle. Ryan's grandparents, Renee and Stanley Blum,
and Lillian Rosen Zylberszac are equally excited for this simcha. Sadly missed is Ryan's paternal grandfather, the late Peter
Cohen. Ryan spends his summers at Camp Kinneret. He enjoys basketball, archery, playing video games and going on
camping trips with his dad. Ryan will be starting Grade 7 this fall at Lower Canada College. He has decided to donate his Bar
Mitzvah gifts to a cause close to his heart, Giant Steps, a school for children with special needs.
MAYA SARAH WOLFE, daughter of Jennifer and Michael Wolfe, granddaughter of Roslyn and Harvey Wolfe and
Fran z”l and Reuben Croll, will celebrate her Bat Mitzvah at Havdalah on November 11, 2017. Maya is excited to share this
milestone with all of her family; siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Maya recently graduated from St. George’s
elementary and will continue on to its high school in the fall. Maya is a nature lover and supporter of green initiatives to help
the environment. She hopes to continue her commitment by being a leader on the school’s Green Team. Maya is a creative
artist who is looking forward to sharing the traditions of Havdalah with homemade candles and b'samim pouches with
those celebrating with her.
DEAN LEWIS FLEMING, son of Shari Ann Fleming, will be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah with his twin brother Mason
on November 25, 2017, Parashat Vayishlach. Sharing in this milestone are his grandparents Ellen Joy and Raphael Fleming,
Uncle Mark and cousins Sonic and Basho. Dean is a recent graduate of The Akiva School and is currently in Grade 7 at Lower
Canada College. Dean is a keen athlete, who loves playing basketball with the Wolves, flag football and Hampstead baseball.
He loves spending his summers at Camp B'nai Brith Montreal. Dean is a loyal and true friend and always has something to
talk about.
MASON ALEXANDER FLEMING, son of Shari Ann Fleming, will be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah with his twin brother
Dean on November 25, 2017, Parashat Vayishlach. Sharing in this milestone are his grandparents Ellen Joy and Raphael
Fleming, Uncle Mark and cousins Sonic and Basho. Mason is a recent graduate of The Akiva School and is currently in
Grade 7 at Lower Canada College. Mason is a keen athlete, who loves playing basketball with the Wolves, flag football and
Hampstead baseball. He also recently took up golf. He loves spending his summers at Camp B'nai Brith Montreal. Mason
enjoys a challenge and is always willing to try something new. He can often be found watching “how to” videos on YouTube
and then practicing his new skills on any willing participants.
PAIGE MAZOFF, daughter of Carrie Goldstein Mazoff and Peter Mazoff, is excited to be celebrating her Bat Mitzvah
on December 1, 2017. Proud grandparents are Stan and Naomi Mazoff, Ricki Goldstein, and Martin Goldstein. Sadly missed
at this time are her Nana and Papa, Bubby Sarah, and Bubby Mona. Paige will graduate from Akiva school this year, and
continues to enjoy summers at Camp White Pine. She is a born dancer, who also loves to sing and make people laugh.
Although her mitzvah project has not yet been defined, one of Paige’s chosen charities is Mazon Canada.
EYTAN ELKAIM, son of Guilda Benhamou and Laurent Elkaim, will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on January 18, 2018,
Parashat Bo. Sharing in this celebration are his sister Léa, grandparents Simone and Haim Elkaim, Liliane and Raphael
Benhamou, as well as his aunt Yaelle and uncles Erik and Eric. Eytan graduated from Akiva School and is starting high school
at Collège de Montréal in a sports-study program in tennis, a sport for which he competes at provincial and national levels.
Eytan is a member of the Westmount Dolphins swim team. He loves spending time with his cousins, Daniel and Yannick, and
his friends and is excited to share this most special milestone with all of them.
RYAN CONQUY, son of Jennifer Gian and Bruce Conquy, will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on February 3, 2018, Parashat Yitro.

building. Today, we are repairing and transforming key spaces
and enhancing our programs for Jewish life and learning.
