THE SHAAR MEMBERSHIP
COMMITTEE
The recently reactivated Shaar Membership Committee has been meeting
regularly since June. We are a dynamic group of volunteers, representative of the
various demographics of the Shaar population. Our mandate is to both enhance
the membership experience of current members, in addition to welcoming new
members into the Shaar family. Ultimately, we hope that this will lead to a rise in new
membership, as the community at large hears about what a fantastic experience it is
to be a Shaar member!
Various new initiatives have already been introduced to our newest members,
including personal phone calls by committee members, as well as meaningful welcome gifts hand delivered by several of our clergy just before
the High Holidays. We have also inaugurated a “Member2Member” buddy system, which connects new members with existing Shaar members.
Together with my co-chair, Joseph Paperman, and the Membership Committee, we are now looking at ways to engage more Shaar members in
synagogue life, and to strengthen the connections within our Shaar family.
If you would like to join our committee, or would like to be a buddy, please contact me or Robyn Bennett 514.937.9474 ext. 146
