BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING

My goal is to finish LSC with my Associates of Science and apply for a their Nursing program.
Then continue my education with their bridge program for BSN. The nursing program is
extremely competitive, therefore it is important to me to complete my AS with a high GPA.

I was inspired to persue a career in this field when my daughter was born with a rare
congenital heart defect. She has undergone many surgeries and procedures, and the nurses
who have been a part of her journey are true heroes to me and have greatly impacted my
life. I believe I have a unique perspective into the medical world that would make me a strong
asset.

I have taken a long pause in life to be present for my children, setting my own goals aside. I
am now taking this time for myself, to become educated and set a positive example for them.
It is always important to go after your goals, no matter what point you are at in life. I want
them to know that any goal is possible if you work hard for it.

ATTAINABILITY

My goals are 100% attainable if I continue to work hard
towards them. To finish my Associates of Science I need
50 more credit hours. A total of $10,800 for my classes
alone. Because I have young children I am unable to go
to school full time. To make up for this, I will take classes

year round, so I can graduate on time. The nursing
program at LSC will cost an addtional 10k. I am out of
district so the costs associated are higher for me. To get

my BSN I need to finish the nursing program and
complete a year long bridge program. Upon completion

I will need to obtain a license through the State board
before anything else. I can continue my education and
training further to reach higher levels in the profession,

as well as a higher salary.

There are many specialities I can choose from ultimately,
but having my BSN I will be able to go in any direction I
would like.
