You were sleeping
and I was too

You tucked me in
before saying “peekaboo!”

I thought I had to
dream of golden angels
flying dolphins
or anything that soared and flew

How little I knew
other flying few
would visit my room and me

I had no clue
Who could this creature be?

it seemed so true…

He made you sleep deeper with some device
so we could go up “quick!” was his advice

I wondered where we were going
in this dream of mine
I’m sure somewhere nice

We went out quiet as mice
rose his head “up up” he signaled twice

It wasn’t quite like flying
more like on my back lying

while floating towards the bright light
A cozy warm feeling filled me whole that
night

looking at the sky glow
going up reeeeeally slow
I hoped you could come along
where we belong

He had other funny friends
and communicated with me using weird
trends

when they gather
so crazy!

They remind me of you and I
spending time together

Going really fast
super nova blast
we were cast
into the vast
purple, green and yellow
everlast

We exited the atmosphere
I felt
a bit of fear
not having you anywhere near

it all suddenly turned clear
blinded by the white, very, very white
a million photons entered my brain with all their might

all this energy
the inmensity
no density

This is my present
my future
my every past
I am free
at last

It was then
when I saw your face
lying down so beautifully

to the ground
not bound
such grace
out here in space
do not worry, I’m OK

At a steady pace
into the dark

the bubble ship did not make a sound
so I could hear all around

Seeing meteors pass
and planets move slowly
powerful it all was

This galaxy
feels like a melody
all over my tiny human body

I don’t ever want
this memory to depart

I wish I could
go get a star

just for mommy

too big
maybe a comet
I’ll take a part
put it in my pocket

No
I don’t need a rocket
to bring you back a piece of my heart

A huge hugging force
Earth looked just like you

and I the moon
always close

we call it planet blue
but I’m not sad

for I am not alone

After visiting an awesome dimension
my head was spinning
one hole
black
brought me back

oh no!
what could I do?
that felt so real
went back to sleep
thinking
I better start counting sheep

The next morning I woke up
racing to your arms

I tried to explain
what I had dreamt

You held me tight

did the funny pose
the twitchy nose

You knew!
You knew where I had been last night!

It was just like you said, mom
I didn’t need legs
to fly
only love
to take me high above
