It was an afternoon well spent. We thank Prof Dr Ravi for enlightening about EUS guided endotheraphy.

Masterclass on kidney diseases was conceived to commemorate world kidney day 2022. Prof Dr Edwin
Fernando lead the team of resource person who delivered loads of knowledge in a concised manner.
Prof Dr Edwin, Dr Venkatesh, Dr Vijilakshmi, Dr Jerry Mathew, Dr Vidhyalakshmi, Dr Prasanna Dr
Rajesekar Dr Navinath Mohan were very eloquent and crisp. Thank you.

No program can be successful without participation. We had our Hall full. Thanks everyone for your
participation.

Thank the officer bearers of IMA Tambaram lead by The president, Secretary and the finance secretary
for leading from the front. We need to thank the catering services, IMA Tambaram executive. staff and
photographer for there support.

Together everyone acheives more.

TIRUPUR MEET 13.3.2022

On 13.3.2022 - IMA TBM Branch 7 doctors participated including President - Dr. Umaiyal
Murugesan, Dr. T.N. Sai Meenakshi, Hony. Secretary and WDW Chairperson Dr. Kiruthika
Devi R S in Women Doctors Day Celebration organized by IMA TNSB WDW and IMA Tirupur
Branch
Great trip with plenty of learnings .
Tried my hands on singing. A nice platform to showcase our talents . Really made a very
positive impression of our Branch at the state level .everyone State leaders ) appreciated
our presence .
Mission accomplished.
Thank you Sai my Secretary and My WDW team headed by Kirthika Devi R S and Dr. S.
Varalakshmi and Dr. K. Sri Sudha for making it possible.
Our immediate Past National WDW Chair Dr. L. Yeshoda’s presence was very useful to
further our cause .

WORLD GLAUCOMA WEEK – 6-12 MARCH 2022 OBSERVANCE

WALKATHON AND PUBLIC AWARENESS RALLY : A REPORT

The Tambaram Ophthalmic Society ( TOS) took part in the World glaucoma week 6-
12 March 2022 observance in association with WGA, GSI, TNOA, MCOA, Bhaarath
Medical College , IMA Tambaram and FORWA (Federation of residents welfare
association).

Theme : The World is bright, save your sight !

Glaucoma awareness walkathon was held on 13.03.2022 in Agaramthen Road. There
were three categories in which the registered participants took part, 10 km and 5 km
run or walk and 3 km rally.

There were more than 300 participants from diverse age groups, including five year
old kids and people from all walks of life, participating very enthusiastically.

The athletic challenge 10 km run/ walk was flagged of at 5.30 am from Agaramthen
Road, by Chief guest Dr.M.Elangovan, Commissioner Tambaram Corporation , Dr.
Mohan Rajan – President - Tamilnadu Ophthalmic Association (TNOA), Dr.Nirmal
Fredrick, Vice President -TNOA & Founder President -TOS, Dr. Elumalai – Dean,
Bharath Medical College. This was followed by an energising zumba/ warm up
activity for the 5 km participants by fioness fitness group.

The Inaugural program started with a warm welcome note by Dr.Rachula Daniel,
(President- TOS), program overview by Dr.Nirmal Fredrick, (Vice President – TNOA
& Founder President- TOS ), Chief guest Address by Dr. M. Elangovan,
(Commissioner Tambaram Corporation), addresses by Guests of honour, Dr. Mohan
Rajan (President –TNOA & MD Rajan Eye Care) and Lion.R.Govindarajan (
President FORWA), Dr.Murali Ariga - MD Swamy eye clinic and Dr.Jamuna Rani,
Finance secretary Tambaram IMA. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.Ramya
Chelliah, (Secretary – TOS).

After the short and crisp inaugural function, the 5km amd 3 km rally was flagged of
by the chief guest and guests of honour.

The enthusiastic participants walked with banners and placards to create awareness
among the public. Pamphlets about glaucoma were also distributed to the public.

The Tambaram Fit and Spin Doctors’s challenge grand finale was also successfully
completed. At the culmination of the event, finisher medals and prizes were
distributed to the finishers of the walkathon and winners of the challenge. The
program ended with a simple and healthy breakfast. The event was well covered by
media.
