Spooner and the Railroad, near the Railroad Memories
Museum in Spooner, outlines the development of the railroad
in the area, and its importance at one time, especially to the
railroad town of Spooner.

Spooner Veterans Memorial, located at Waterfront Park
on the south side of Spooner. The memorial consists of
jet-black stones, each inscribed with up to 750 names
of Spooner area veterans. The memorial’s floor is laid
with 900 granite paver stones between 6,000
decorative stones. Some of the pavers are engraved
with a name or message. A replica of the Tomb of the
Unknown Soldier also is at the site.

Yellow River, located on a pull-off on westbound
Hwy. 70 near Orchard Lane, east of Spooner. The
marker describes the origin of the river’s name and
some history of early fur traders and Native
American tribes of the region.
