OFFICIAL MATCHDAY PROGRAMME
SATURDAY 4th MAY 2019 – 2.30PM
VIEW FROM THE CHAIR
I would like to welcome Egremont to West Hull Community
Club today for this League match and I hope you have had an
uneventful journey from Cumbria.
It seems a long time since we had a home match although it
is only three weeks since we played at home but it seems and
age so today should be a good one! It is the top of the table
clash with both teams vying for the points Egremont top the
Premier League and we are not far behind them with only
one less point than them but with a match in hand so today
will be the clash of the titans!
After last week’s second half performance against Lock Lane
we fear nobody and we are all expecting the lads to capitalise
on that performance and come away with the spoils today.
On the other pitch today the Academy side are taking on a
tough Bentley side but these young players and they will not
take a backward step – we feel as though the club made the
right decision to play these youngsters in the Yorkshire Men’s
League.
For those who are interested the Fixture List showing both
the NCL and Academy matches on are available in the
canteen in the clubhouse

LAST TIME OUT – WEST HULL
Lock Lane 14 West Hull 40
West Hull superb second half performance ensured that West
Hull kept up their unbeaten record against a strong Lock Lane
outfit!
However at the start it looked as though Wests had stayed on
the bus as Lock Lane swept into a 10-0 lead and it was on the
half hour mark when West woke up and then there was no
stopping them!

MARK’S MUSINGS
After last weekend’s second half performance against a strong
Lock Lane side when we came into our own and played some
of the best rugby I have ever seen played in the amateur
game! We must produce the same rugby today and we will
have no problem getting the points today!
Training has gone well this week although we have a couple of
injuries but we have strength in depth so the young lads can
soon step up!
See you in the Clubhouse - Hewbo
COLS’S QUIPS
Welcome to all the opposition today – it’s a long trek but I hope it
has been an uneventful one! I expect a cracking game today as
Egremont are top of the League and we are knocking on the door
with our unbeaten record to date!
We had a good win last weekend against Lock Lane and our
Academy side were worthy winners against Cutsyke another
Castleford outfit score line was 26-10. This shows that many of
the youngsters playing in the Academy are knocking on the door
of the NCL team!
Cheers - Col
CONFERENCE ROUND UP
EGREMONT RANGERS stay top of the division after their win
against local rivals KELLS!
Another of their Cumbrian Marra’s WATH BROW jumped to
second place with a resounding 46-0 victory over struggling LEIGH
MINERS RANGERS.
WEST HULL ironically despite winning at LOCK LANE dropped to
third place because their points difference was pipped by Wath
Brow who nilled their opposition!
Champions HUNSLET PARKSIDE had a credible win 10-2 at THATTO
HEATH who slipped into the bottom half of the league table.
UNDERBANK RANGERS continue to surprise a few teams and had
an excellent 12-6 victory over SIDDAL despite having a man sent
off just after half time!
WEST HULL SEA ANGLING CLUB
The Fishing Club have their annual presentation in the clubhouse
tonight there is a free buffet and a live band the ELDERBERRIES.
Chinny and the lads said all welcome! They will be selling raffle
tickets and the first prize is a fishing rod worth in excess of £200
and many more other prizes!
