Diagnostic Tests

An examination to identify a condition or its cause in individual's specific areas
of weakness and strength in order determine a condition, disease or illness

Placement test

A test given by a school to determine the academic or skill level
of a student, especially a new student, in order to place them in

the correct class.

Progress or achievement test

A test that evaluates a learner's
understanding of a specific course or
study programme. It can be compared
with proficiency tests, which measure
a learner's level of language, diagnostic

complete a course or take an exam.

An exam which is carefully constructed tests
which have uniformity of procedure in scoring,
administering and interpreting the test results.

professional tester or a group of testers e.g. ONET,
SAT, GAT
