HISTORY OF
ME!

~Daisy Landeros

When I was about five years old I lived in Oxnard CA. I attended
Driffill Elementary school. My mom and I lived in a tiny house
together across the street from my tia Delias house. I would
spend a lot of time with my tia and my mom. We lived in a small
neighborhood where everybody knew each other. In our house
there was one bed, a dining table, a stove, a sink, a couch, and
one bathroom. It was basically a studio. A couple months after I
started school at Driffill, my mom informed me that we were to
move to Carson CA. I was devastated, but I knew I needed to
make the best of my time there. My mom and I had made so
many memories, but now we were to make new ones. When we
moved I started school at Towne Ave Elementary. I had my own
room in Carson and I made more friends. Till this day I still go to
Oxnard and visit my grandma and my tia.

Geography

Summer 2019, I received my sacrament of confirmation.
According to Study.com, confirmation is the sacrament by
which catholics receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
My confirmation took place in La Parroquia de la Inmaculada
Concepción, Jerez Zacatecas Mexico, my grandparents home
town. It was a memorable experience because I gotta do it along
with five of my cousins. The mass took around two ours. The
priest came and made the sign of the cross on my forehead with
consecrated oil while saying my name and “ Se sellado con el
don del Espíritu Santo”. My response was Amen. At that point
we were all confirmed. Shortly after we attended a mass for my
cousins Quinceanera which we all took part in.

One invention that has improved my life is electricity.
Electricity is our main power source. Electricity powers many
cars, refrigerators, tv’s, technology, and many more things.
Electric cars help the environment and ourselves by saving
money and pollution. Without electricity we would be in the
dark and we wouldn't have a place to store our food. Electricity
powers laptops, phones, wifi, I mean who can't live without
wifi? Without electricity there would be more pollution than
there already is, our food would go bad, we wouldn't have wifi,
or anything to power our phones.

Achievements

One rule I have to follow at home is to never put my feet on the
couch. With either no shoes or shoes on. If anyone breaks this
rule they get yelled at by my grandma. She has these white
couches and we are not allowed to rest our feet on them. I don't
understand this rule because she puts towels on them. Also if
we break this rule she says (just joking around) “ I am not
going to feed you any more”. Now that we are older she's more
easier on us about leaving our feet on the couch but she expects
us not to leave them there. This rule has taught me more
manners.

Politics

When I grow up I want to become a Pediatrician. I want that
career because I love babies and kids. I am very good with
them. I am patient, and I am outgoing, so kids can have a
connection with me. Not only that but it will give you a life out
of it, you will make many friends with the same passion and
same career. Helping people is my passion. I want to be able to
help people when needed. If someone is struggling I will be
able to help them. I am always babysitting my siblings, cousins,
and neighbors so I have experience with babies and kids.

Economics

I have a very large family. I have one 4 year old brother, a 6 year
old sister, 1 year old sister, and a 8 month sister. Ethan, Mia,
Victoria, and Valentina. My mom and my dad are not together.
My brother and I have different dads and my sisters and I have
different moms. I am proud to be a Landeros and Ochoa. On our
free time we all hang out with my cousins. My cousins and I
have a very close bond. We see each other every weekend. My
great grandma lives in Jerez Zacatecas Mexico along with two
of my tias. All my cousins, uncles, and myself go to Mexico
every year to visit them, each time we go we all get closer. My
other great grandma lives in Chicago, she comes every year.
