INTRODUCTION

Information Technology (IT) plays a vital role in today’s world. The rapid changing
and advancement in Information Technology help to minimize the required time
involved in every aspect of life. The 21st-century environment requires ones to be
knowledgeable and savvy using computers as well as the internet. Information
Technology is being used widely in every field of life. No works are complete
without the use of IT. No source of information is considered valid without
references and possible citations through the internet. The level of potential
productivity and desirable outcomes can be progressively increased with the proper
use of the internet and technological system.

Therefore, this programme has aimed to produce individuals with the potential to
adapt the use of technology and are responsible in the computer system and
network technology to meet the new challenges of the field of information
technology in line with the needs of the country. Students have the opportunity to
gain knowledge related to a computer system and network theoretically and
practically. It helps to ensure they acquire extensive insight into IT. This
programme additionally requires students to go through Industrial Training to
ensure students can obtain the proper environment of work as well as pursuing to
further their studies at higher levels.

SYNOPSIS

The teaching and learning of this programme are conducted in both theoretical and
practical activity. By the end of this programme, students should be knowledgeable
and practically savvy to handle IT-related task specifically in the computer system
and networking based on the course they have taken in this programme. This will
help the students to efficiently perform their task in the working environment.

This programme can equip students with knowledge and skills related to the

EXAMINATION RULES AND
ASSESSMENT METHODS

1. Assessment

1.1. Students must complete or perform all Continuous Assessment (CA) and
Final Assessment (PA) for all courses based on curriculum requirements.

1.2. Students will PASS the evaluation of a Course if they meet following
requirements:
i. Candidates should pass BOTH formative (continuous) and
summative (final) assessment for every subject.
ii. Must ATTEND Final Assessment.
iii. Courses that do not involve Final Assessment will be assessed 100%
Continuous Assessment.

2. Award Of Certificate

2.1. Students are only eligible to be awarded a Certificate after fulfilling the
following requirements:
i. Has passed all courses for each program;
ii. Passed Industrial Training / WBL;
iii. HPNM ≥ 2.00;
iv. Not to exceed the maximum period of study;
v. Other prescribed conditions; and
vi. Recommended by the Community College Central Examination
Committee.

2.2. Students will obtain a Director's Award if they meet the following
requirements:
i. Students registered for a course for at least 12 credits per
semester; and
ii. Obtained PNM ≥ 3.67 for the semester
Note: The note “Director's Award” will be included in the slip.

3. Examination Rules

3.1. REQUIREMENTS FOR EXAMINATION
Students must meet the following conditions before being allowed to sit
for any exam:
i. Has registered for a semester;
ii. Has registered for a course;
iii. Has attended at least 80% of meeting hours for a period of time
unless authorized by the Deputy Director of Academics (TPA) /
Deputy Director (TP). For unfit students they should submit a
Medical Leave Certificate. Private doctor's certificates are limited
to 2 consecutive days and not exceeding 8 days per semester; and
iv. Must bring along student card and examination slip.

Student attendance percentage is calculated as follows:
