Sialkot has a recorded history of thousands of years and has, since its foundation, experienced migrations of Hindu, Buddhist,

Persian, Greek, Afghan, Tur, Sikh, Mughal and the British. Sialkot has been the birthplace of many noted personalities, including

philosopher / poet Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz, writer Rajinder Singh Bedi, Kuldip Nayyar and a number of sports and

art personalities. As of 2015, Sialkot exported US$2 billion worth of goods which is equal to 9% of Pakistan's total exports (US$22

billion). 250,000 residents are employed in Sialkot's industries. Sialkot's Chamber of Commerce had over 6,500 members in 2010,

with most active in the leather, sports goods, and surgical instruments industry. Sialkot Dry Port offers local producers quick access to

Pakistan Customs, as well as to logistics and transportation. The Sialkot International Airport is the only private sector airport in

Pakistan. The Sialkot-Lahore motorway project (89 km long) is expected to be completed in December 2018 at a cost of 44 billion

rupees. Per Capita Income of Sialkot in 2014 was $2800, which was $2100 in 2008 and $2400 in 2010. The per capita income of

GENERAL ADMISSION POLICY FOR ALL

DEGREE PROGRAMS

 Admission shall be made as per USKT Admission Policy and shall be open for all candidates from Pakistan and Abroad.
 Admissions will be conducted on the basis of First Year result.
 All applications must be submitted through USKT Online Admission Application system on or before the stipulated deadline.
 All information submitted through online application should be supported by the provision of copies of relevant transcripts and

certificates. Information will not be considered valid if the official proof/document is missing.
 It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to provide complete, correct and timely information to the Admissions Office.
 In addition to the condition(s) stipulated by the USKT through admission offer letter, all admitted students MUST meet the

prescribed conditions stipulated by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.
 Admissions shall be strictly on open merit.
 At least 45% marks in terminal degree are required to apply for admission.
 At least 60% marks in intermediate (FSc-Pre Medical or Equivalent) required for admission in Doctor of Physiotherapy
 Departmental Entry / Aptitude Test (where required) shall be conducted by the Concerned Department, as per schedule.
 List of selected candidates shall be displayed as per schedule. The list shall also be available on USKT website.
 The selected candidates shall be required to pay admission dues within the notified dates; otherwise the admission shall be

considered cancelled.
 Deposited Fee shall not be refunded except security dues or as per the Fee Refund Policy of HEC.

DEGREE PROGRAMS

 Subject to the availability of merit and availability of seat, a candidate shall be allowed to change major discipline within 14 days of
the commencement of classes.

 Two seats in each program shall be reserved for the disable/special candidates as per the criteria of HEC Policy.

As per admission procedure, an applicant will apply online.
How to apply online
There are few steps to online applying procedure.
 Firstly, Applicant will visit the university website www.uskt.edu.pk. and click the admission button from the menu and the system

will take applicant to the admission's portal. First time, user will have to create account. Applicant will click on Create New Account
button to create his/her account. Applicant will enter the required data and click the register button. System will ask applicant to
enter the verification code against the entered email or phone number
 Upon successful login, system will take the applicant to welcome page. As a first step applicant, will enter complete and valid basic
information along with his/her scanned image.
 After completion of your basic information, Applicant will be able to click next button to complete academic information e.g.
secondary, post-secondary information, higher education level (if applicable) and then click on update the information.
Program selection
 In a third step, the applicant will enter the desired faculty, program and submit it.
How to update Challan.
 Next step is to generate the Admission Processing Fee challan form. Before generating the challan form, an applicant must accept
digital undertaking to confirm that information entered in the Admission Application Form is correct. In case of incorrect information,
the University has the right to cancel the application/admission without any fee refund. Applicant may save the fee challan form and
take print.
 The applicants may deposit the Admission Processing Fee through bank or account office.
 How to edit application.
 Applicant may update his/her application before the payment of Application Processing Fee.
Processing fee records
 Accounts department will verify the payment of processing fee.
 Treasurer office will mark the application processing fee as paid against each Challan number.
 Upon payment of the Application Processing Fee, the applicant will export the application in PDF format, print his/her online-
application, and get it signed by himself/herself and parents/guardian before sending it to the campus.
 Attach Department and Treasurer Copy of challan with your application along with attested copies of following required
documents.

QUALITY ENHANCEMENT CELL (QEC)

1. Vision

Quality knowledge, imparted by quality faculty adopting quality means using quality
practices and processes in a quality environment characterized by quality awareness
and consciousness, is a requisite for Quality Graduates. The graduates meeting and
exceeding expectations of parents, society, employers, nation and fellow humans
universally. Achieve academic excellence, concrete research output, innovative learning
and creation of knowledge through quality inputs, procedures and practices in order to
be amongst world's top ranked institutions.

2. Mission

Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmad To strive for academic excellence in teaching and research by the implementation of
quality assurance practices in order to meet the requirements of the stakeholders. This
Professor and Director QEC, Director Academics would be achieved by benchmarking, implementing academic standards and
PhD (Food Science and Technology) integrating quality assurance practices in the teaching learning process.

 To organize professional training programs to train the faculty towards excellence.
 Developing evaluation methods and to evaluate department and institutional assessments.

QUALITY ENHANCEMENT CELL (QEC)

 Ensuring that university is providing all those services as per the university rules and regulations and policies.

4. Scope

The scope of QEC is mainly three fold that is focused on building a culture that is quality driven by making, applying and
managing quality assurance and development processes and practices to ensure competitive excellence nationally and
internationally. These processes include Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) that deals with the maintenance of quality culture
by conducting various surveys, analyzing the feedbacks and preparing the annual reports and self-assessment reports,
External Quality Assurance (EQA) that focusses on providing enough evidence of quality in existing processes to the
various accreditation agencies and working on Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) and by developing a monitoring
mechanism to monitor academic, administrative and research practices.

INTERNATIONALIZATION AT UNIVERSITY OF SIALKOT

Internationalization of higher education is one of the key trends of development. University of Sialkot strongly believes on the
applicability of the knowledge delivered to the students in lecture rooms and during informal learning sessions. For this purpose,
University of Sialkot is focusing to collaborate with industries, Chamber of Commerce, clinical laboratories, Diagnostic centers to
equip our students to compete in the market. There are several approaches which University has always given priority to and that is
how to achieve competitiveness and performance in higher Education and international academic mobility such as students'
exchange programs, partnerships are some of the aspects that can play a significant role in this process.

Chamber of Commerce Sialkot has always been an active part of different awareness campaigns, seminars, symposiums and other
such activities. Chamber has also welcomed the students as internees to train them for their practical life. State Bank of Pakistan has
been conducting various seminars related to Islamic baking & financial strategies in the institute & the students have been part of their
summer internship program for past 3 years.

A “Mutual Collaboration” in the light of MoU b/w USKT & AKI took place on 17th April, 2019 to encourage a Pragmatic Corporate
Learning with modern manufacturing techniques through futuristic combined projects. A “Mutual Collaboration” in the light of MoU
between USKT School of Fashion & Design and FOLKRUNG (A Product of ICT4E (SMC-PVT) Limited) occurred on 12th June, 2019 To
ink the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for promotion and showcasing of Pakistan's culture and heritage through physical
products on fabric, leather, wood, and stones – hereinafter referred to as “the Product”

As the premier, University of Sialkot has been actively
reviewing its new and existing academic programs to ensure
they are current, comprehensive, challenging and fulfill the
needs of various national and international stakeholders.
Internationalization of curriculum has become one of the most
important aspects emphasized to achieve these objectives
which especially during its recent curriculum review practices
to explicitly include the elements of internationalization in the
curriculum of new and existing academic programs. A
framework of integrated internationalization of curriculum at
institutional level is then proposed based on these afore-
mentioned prolific and futuristic experiences.

ACADEMIA INDUSTRY COLLABORATION

University of Sialkot emphasizes on the importance of cultural exchange programs and global marketing understandings. We are
exploring the potential of internalization through different channels in the university. Office of student affairs is managing the foreign
study tours under the umbrella of student exchange programs and also strengthening the existing national level semester exchange
programs for our students to provide them opportunities to travel and learn in the foreign and national top ranked institutes.
University of Sialkot is also promoting faculty exchange programs to diversify the teaching/research spectrum of our faculty members
to promote international standards in teaching and research.

Scholarships & Financial Assistance

Merit based scholarships are awarded at the time of admission. However, the need based financial assistance can be requested
only in exceptional circumstances during the course of study. Some awards, are based on the academic performance during a
semester but double awards are not given. Fro the information of the participants, the details about all types of awards is given
below.

Merit Based Scholarship 100% of Tuition Fee Applicable on New Admissions only
75% of Tuition Fee with 90% and above marks.

20% of Tuition Fee Semester GPA>=3.8 and <4.0
10% of Tuition Fee Semester GPA>=3.5 and<3.8

Need based Scholarships

Once the application on Need Based Scholarship Form (available on USKT website) is submitted in the office of Students
Services Center (SSC), the University Scholarships Committee will assess and approve the applications in the light of evidences
submitted in its scheduled meetings. The Students Services Center will inform applicants about the outcome of their
applications through emails/SMS or notice boards.

requested on other heads (Admission Fee, Security etc.).

Placement Cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities. In the University of Sialkot, we provide opportunities to the
potential students regardless of their financial circumstances, religion, caste etc. We are committed to the creation of
knowledge in the broad range of fields. Our Placement Cell organizes career guidance programmes for all the students
starting from the first year.

PLACEMENT CELL

The goal of our placement cell is to provide employment opportunities to the students. The Training & Placement Cell works
under the supervision of Director Student Service Center. The Cell is well equipped with ample infrastructure in terms of
Seminar Halls, Meeting/Consultancy Hall for Pre Placement Talk, Presentations, etc.

Our dedicated team aims to:

 Look after the training and placement activities of students.
 Have close liaison with industry for placement of students.
 Prepare students for corporate sector and collect feedback from the companies regarding placement.
 Arrange Industry Expert Workshops, guest lectures and Industrial Visits.
 Conduct various Training programs for technical skills as well as soft skills.
 Identify relevant placement firms for Student's final placements, internship programs and live projects
 Administer and liaise with the employers regarding the placement of students, the location of placement, job agreement

and job specifications.
 Provide Career guidance and support to the students.
 Act as a primary contact between the employer and the institution.

PLACEMENT PROCESS

The Institute helps each student to explore placement opportunities by inviting various companies for campus recruitment
of students who are in the final year of the programme and are likely to graduate at the end of the academic year.
The final placements, at the Institute, are the result of a very systematic interaction with the industry and continuous career
counseling of the students. Right from the beginning of the programme, students are continuously counseled with regard
to their career aspirations and options, which in turn is vigorously followed up with the potential companies for participating
in the placement programme of the Institute. This not only helps the students in getting their 'dream' jobs but also assists
the visiting placement companies in identifying the 'right' candidate for their organization.

The Broad Activities Undertaken by the Placement Cell

Formation of Students' Placement Committees for the final placement and also for getting industrial training as well as
industry linked project work for students.
 Preparation of Placement Brochure for final placement.
 Pre-placement visits (PPV) to the companies.
 Communication, networking and relationship building with the potential recruiters
 Invitation to potential recruiters to visit the Institute.
 Continuation of placement activities after the stipulated period, till all the students are placed.
 Grooming and training of the candidates for the placements so that their chances of selection should increase.
 General follow-up, joining formalities and other administrative activities.

The University of Sialkot is looking forward to working with the local industry and esteemed organizations in a closer contact
regarding the placement of its pass-outs of various departments. Our placement office is actively in contact with the
concerned organizations like SCCI, different trade bodies and agencies, government and private sectors, banking sector,
telecom sector and such organizations.

LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS

Students can bring their personal belongings such as handbags, etc., inside the library at their own responsibility. The
library is not liable for any loss or damage.

 Students should submit any book for inspection, when requested by the library staff.
 Do not write, underline or mark any book.
 Library books are carefully examined on return and the borrower will be held responsible for any damages.
 Please leave books on the table or on the book trolley after reading. Please do not shelve the books.
 Complete silence should be observed except for brief and subdued talk with the library staff.
 Drinks and eatables are not allowed in the library.
 Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the library.
 Keep your mobiles switched off/silent within the library premises.
 Students wearing shorts are not allowed inside the library.
 Do not change configuration of computers or any other equipment in the library.
 USKT IT code of conduct must be observed while using IT applications.

Students become members of the library on their admission in USKT. However, they are required to sign the
“Relationship Form” to activate their membership. All registered users are entitled to borrow materials from the library.
Borrowing privileges may differ depending on the membership category. The borrowing privileges for course reserve*
and general books are: *Course reserve will be issued for three hours.

 Presentation of a valid library card is a must for any checkout at the circulation desk.

 Loan may be renewed if another user has not reserved the desired book. Overdue books will not be renewed online.

 Books already checked-out by some other user can be reserved.

 Reference material, CD-ROMs, annual reports, pamphlets, current and bound periodicals, IA (industrial advisory)

reports, thesis/dissertations, student's projects and newspapers cannot be checked-out. They can only be consulted

within the library premises.

 If you accidentally misplace a book and cannot find it after a thorough search, report this to the Circulation Desk

immediately to avoid overdue fine.

 Mutilation of library material can lead to a disciplinary action against the perpetrator. Books accidentally damaged

should be reported so that suitable assessment can be made and damages can be collected/ imposed.

 Library material borrowed by any member is subject to recall if needed by the library. A fine may be imposed if the recall

request is not entertained.

 Any material not returned or renewed within 60 days of the due date will be considered LOST.

Fine

To encourage timely return of library materials and to provide optimal sharing of the collections, fines are charged for

overdue items. Borrowers are responsible for returning or renewing items by the due date. If items are not returned within

the due date, fines become retroactive to the first overdue day at following rates.

Overdue Books: PKR 10/- per book per day.

Lost Books: In case of loss or damage, the patron will be charged three times the current price of the item.

Course Reserve: This material is issued for three hours only. If the material is not returned within the allocated time,

a fine of PKR 50/- for each extra hour will be charged.

Disciplinary Fine: PKR 500/- on first time violation, PKR 1000/- on second time violation. If the pattern continues,

the case will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee.

Overdue and fine notices will be sent through official email. All library fines are only paid at the Accounts department. 33
Library account will be blocked if the fine exceeds PKR 5,000/-
The case is submitted to the Vice Chancellor for approval if agreed to enable the prospectus committee to include in
the prospectus.

IEEE (Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineering) is the world's largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing
technology with over 420,000 members worldwide, publishes a third of the world's technical literature, a leading developer of international
standards that underpin many of today's telecommunications and IT services.
IEEE University of Sialkot Branch officially started on 22 December 2014 with the mission:
"To train well rounded individuals equipped with the tools to tackle problems as diverse as the economy, social policy and research".
IEEE University of Sialkot Student Branch comprises of two Affinity Groups; IEEE Computer Society and WIE (Women in Engineering) which
holds over 20 international and 70 local members.
Various opportunities like workshops, educational tours, scholarships, international exposure, and access to research papers, professional talks, webinars,
campaigns and meetings are offered to students which allow them to build their confidence and gain knowledge.
IEEE Sialkot Branch has been working hard since its establishment and the achievements are worth appreciating. Our team stood first in IEEE Xtreme Designing
Competition held at FAST Islamabad. For past two years, our teams are ranked in top ten in IEEE Xtreme Programming Competition all over Pakistan. Our team also
stood runner up in Code Hunt held at GIKI. Besides this, our team has organized many technical and non-technical events including IEEE WEEK 2015, the biggest
event in Sialkot (with the participation of seventeen universities), Workshops, Programming competitions, Photography competitions, Orientation session and much
more.
It is a step towards success where each team member works with determination and sincerity. The opportunities are endless and the path towards success is right

collective voice through strong leadership, promotion of the highest standards, and recognition of technical excellence.
Association of computing machinery is one of the leading organizations in the IT field which offers the chapters at the local as well as
international level to several universities to inspire capable minds. Currently ACM has only 13 international chapters in Pakistan. University of
Sialkot is heading on such international chapter. The purpose of ACM- USKT is to promote technological trends among students. This
Chapter fundamentally intends to bring its students closer to different international communities for Computer Science and data innovation.
This will help in building up a domain that advances demonstrable skill and empower the students to think innovatively.
ACM-USKT provides the computing field's premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing professionals with leading-edge publications,
conferences, and career resources. ACM-USKT student chapter has been working hard to advance the science and art of information processing and
develop the student professionally, polishing their technical and administrative skills. The chapter provides a platform to students to learn those technological
trends that are not taught in academics and to get involved in the management of the Association.
Under remarkable management Skills ACM student Chapter USKT has organized several events that have played a shining role in polishing the mindsets of
students studying under our institute. The chapter's organizational structure follows a hierarchy having one president one vice president and coordinators working
under the guidance of the faculty of university as well as the Chapter's management. Apart from these the chapter plays an important role in almost all kinds of the
events on campus that magnifies the campus life of each student, supports the professional growth of its members by providing opportunities for life-long learning,
career development, and professional networking.
ACM-USKT has the honor of organizing many technological events like E-Gaming, Robotics workshop, Programming workshop for beginners. To introduce
students with technological trends in soft market, this forum has organized many such events like Lectures on emerging Technologies and Women in technology. A
workshop on CCNA was organized under the supervision of senior CISCO certified faculty which helped students to lear n networking skills. Apart from these,
ACM-USKT has been part of many other inter departmental events and has competed with other universities.

Foundation Diploma in

FASHION DESIGN

Introduction
Foundation Diploma is the basic level of awareness for the discipline of Fashion and Design. It starts with the methodology of basic Design, and Drawing
techniques with the detail study of using multiple mediums like water colors, poster paints, charcoal and their application on paper and canvas. In
addition to that foundation knowledge of Pattern Making, Draping and Hand / Machine sewing techniques will also be covered in this course. The
maximum time duration of this diploma is two semesters.
