Statement from the President

Dear students,
For twenty years now Matan has been giving a voice to your Torah.
We are leaders in Torah study for women that is meaningful and multi-layered,
through tens of classes aimed at a wide range of people, across varied media,
in Israel and worldwide. It warms the heart when Torah study comes alive and
we meet you, in the Beit Midrash and outside it.
Thank God that the thirst for Torah keeps growing all the time, and here at
Matan we continue striving to expand the tools in order to promote the voice
of women’s Torah study.
You, the students and lovers of Torah, are valuable partners in this important
journey.
Together with you we will reach the new goals that we have set for ourselves,
and we will continue to be innovators in Torah study, expanding and enhancing
the Torah.
I want to personally thank each and every one of you who joins in this
important effort.
Together we will give a voice to our Torah.
Together we will give a home to our Torah.

What is an

Ambassadors’

?Campaign

Working to expand Matan’s voice

This time we’re working together, hundreds of activists, teachers, students,
in Israel and around the world, each one doing their part for Matan. We’ll
work together for one week in order to amplify the voice of Matan, broaden
the circle of influence and expand our Torah study.

Every Ambassador Sets Their Own Personal Goal

Every one of you sets a personal financial goal for what you hope to raise
during the campaign.

Approaching Donors

Each of us has students, teachers, and an inner circle of family and friends.
Experience teaches that a personal approach, emphasizing your personal
connection to Matan, is the best way to bring them into the family of those
supporting Matan’s voice.

Together We Can Reach Our Goal

Throughout the campaign each of us will strive to reach their goal. At the
end of the process, together we will reach the collective goal we set for
ourselves to give our Torah a voice, the Torah of Matan.

When Will it Happen?

For one week: 24 Iyar - 3 Sivan | May 25 - June 2

Where Will it Happen?

Everywhere, all day, and on every Matan platform, throughout the week.

How Will it Happen?

We’ll meet at the beginning of the campaign for a special uplifting evening
which will take place virtually. We will launch the digital campaign, which
includes a campaign page, explanations, and more. Each ambassador will
have their own contribution page which will state their personal goal. All
contributions will be updated in real time.
It is important to emphasize that each ambassador will send a link to each
potential donor, which will take them to the ambassador’s personal
contribution page.

What Does This

?Require of You

Prepare a list of names of the people you intend to turn to for a contribution.
Go through your contacts on your phone and make a list of everyone you can
turn to for a contribution. Almost anyone could be a potential donor towards
our important mission.
Meeting your personal goal. The idea is to reach the goal you set for yourself.
We know from experience with similar campaigns that this really is possible!
Family, friends, colleagues - there are so many good people surrounding us
who are ready to support, to help, to listen to your appeal and to donate
with love.
Come with a lot of energy and motivation. We are relying on you and your
passion for Matan. Pulling together will enable us to achieve our goals and
increase our activities.

Choosing

a Contribution Goal

A week of learning at Matan - 185 Classes
Every week, the best teachers, experts, rabbis and
rabbaniyot teach tens of classes at Matan. With your
help we will continue to share the wisdom of the
generations and make Jewish sources and the Jewish
library accessible to all. The classes are hybrid.

Cost of one week’s classes 50,000 NIS

Increasing the number of students in the Beit
Midrash

Women’s thirst for Torah study continues to grow. That
means we need to expand the circle and bring more students
into our Beit Midrash who come to learn, teach and lead.
Each student needs resources. Lend a hand so we can add
more students.

Expanding the Bat Mitzvah program for families of
limited means
Our Bat Mitzvah program instills meaning to the Bat
Mitzvah milestone. Every year we help families who
don’t have the means to afford the program. This
year we hope to expand the program and to open the
doors to more of these mothers and daughters. The
program is international - help us increase its influence
and reach.

Shayla -online platform for Halakhic Q&A
The questions we receive through the website are
answered by a Halakha committee which includes
rabbis and rabbaniyot. This enables people to
receive well-researched quality responses, which
are then published with detailed references.

Scholarship for a student of the Beit Midrash
We believe that the Beit Midrash should be open to
everyone, even if it’s beyond their means.
Over the years we have helped many students who
could not afford it to connect to Torah, and our hope
is to continue to do so by expanding the circle of
learning.

Expanding the Daf Yomi for women's program
Our Daf Yomi for women, which we started 15 years
ago, has already become well known. Our classes, in
a variety of locations and on Zoom, are packed with
women who have taken on the obligation of learning
a page of Talmud every day. Help us support this
important project. Our classes are free and taught
by Matan graduates in Hebrew and in English.

Group Leaders

Opening

Shalom _______________, How are you doing? I’m calling because Matan
is launching an Ambassadors’ Campaign with the help of Charidy. The
crowdfunding campaign will start on May 25th for a week. The campaign
requires the efforts of each and every ambassador. Each ambassador who
is personally connected to Matan will be asking their circle of friends and
acquaintances to make a contribution.

Tell them about your goal

In order to draft as many Ambassadors as possible we need your help as a
group leader.
Each group leader is asked to recruit ten Ambassadors, and then to follow up
to make sure that they are actively pursuing their goals.
A group leader is also an Ambassador in their own right, as well as taking
responsibility for the ambassadors under them. This primarily involves speaking
with your ambassadors, explaining the campaign to them, and inviting them to
a launch evening. There will also be a preparatory meeting with the Charidy
staff, who will explain how the campaign works, and the role of each group
leader (date will vary with location).
I’m turning to you because I know that you will be an excellent group leader,
and hope that you’ll take on the job. The group leaders will have a direct
effect on the success of the campaign, which is why we want you with us in
a volunteer capacity; we think you will be excellent in the role.
Of course, we will provide you with material for the campaign, including clips,
blurbs for publishing on social media, etc. At the meeting with Charidy we will
be explain everything and there will be time for questions.

In our experience, these kinds of discussions, even with close friends, can
meet with resistance. It’s important to speak with conviction and to be fully
familiar with our goals. The more determined we are and the clearer we are
regarding our needs, the greater likelihood of receiving a donation. Here are
some examples of objections and ways to respond to them:

Thank you for supporting the important goals of this other organization.
However, this is an opportunity to help Matan expand their activities. Your
contribution will make it possible to add additional students to our Beit Midrash,
to promote the bat mitzvah program for needy families, to offer hundreds of
classes every week, study days, festive Tefilla, trips and more... Our study
community influences not just the women who take part themselves, but also
their families and communities in Israel and around the world.

I don’t donate through the Internet

Credit cards are guaranteed by the security system of Charidy. Their system
is authorized by all the international credit card companies. Immediately upon
completion of your contribution you will receive a notice by email verifying
the transaction.

I don’t give my credit card number over the phone

There is no need. The donation is made by way of a secure link.
