4 Entry Requirement Master’s Programme • A Bachelor Degree with Honours from UiTM or any institution of higher learning recognised by the University Senate; or • Other qualification equivalent to a first degree recognised by the University Senate in a relevant field with related experience, and • Other requirements as specified by the faculty/ university. (Please refer to the respective faculty’s admission requirements) PhD Programme • A Master Degree in a relevant field from UiTM in any institution or higher learning recognised by the University Senate; or • Other qualification (APEL) in a relevant field equivalent to Master’s degree recognised by the University Senate with related experience; or • Other requirements as specified by the faculty/ university. (Please refer to the respective faculty’s admission requirements) English Language Proficiency Requirements International applicants must show proficiency in English as all programmes in UiTM are conducted in English. Applicants are required to provide the latest evidence of their English language proficiency for UiTM admission. (within 2 years) 1. Please refer to the English Competency Requirement (Table 1, page 5) for detailed information regarding each programme’s English entry requirement. 2. Applicants must be proficient in English as all programs are conducted in English. 3. The minimum requirement for the English language may differ between programmes at the same study level. 4. Full admission will be granted to applicants who fulfil the English requirement criteria. 5. Candidates who do not have MUET, TOEFL or IELTS are required to attend a six (6) months of English Proficiency Course (EPC) prior to enrolment in the programme. Upon completion of the EPC program, candidates need to sit for MUET/TOEFL/IELTS examination with the score (Table 1, page 5). 6. Exemption from UiTM English Language Requirement is only allowed if the candidate: • Have obtained a Bachelor / Master or other relevant degrees from a Malaysian recognized institution whereby all courses are fully conducted in English or; • A native of an English-speaking country (refer to English Exemption above) or: • Graduated from any higher learning institution which uses the English Language as the medium of instruction.
Application for research programmes is open throughout the year. The advertisement for coursework and mixed mode programmes for Semester 1 (March) intake is in October and for Semester 2 (October) intake is in March.
