Now, 40 years later, we’re very proud
to reintroduce the new Black Ace. A
thoroughly modern racket, infused with
the DNA that launched an era, tailored
to the specific requirements of an elite
circle of talented players.

This Black Ace is poised to write a
brand new page in tennis history.

In 1977, engineer Kunnan Lo began to explore new
materials to combine with wood in order to improve racket
stability and enhance performance. The integration of
graphite layers between maple and ash was so effective
in improving performance, he set out to revolutionize the
sport by developing the first commercially viable,
all-graphite racket.

By 1979, the BLACK ACE 93 was born. In the following
three years, manufacturers all over the world abandoned
wood and turned to graphite.

In 1980, ours was the first all-graphite racket to win a
Grand Slam Singles Title when American Brian Teacher
shocked the tennis world in winning the Australian Open
with his BLACK ACE.

You see, physics tells us that there are two main
variables that dictate Kinetic Energy: Mass and
Velocity. It also tells us that only 1⁄2 of the mass
of an object can be converted to energy. That
means that the heavier the frame, the more
Potential energy can be created.

We also know that a lighter frame is easier to
move than a heavier frame. Typically, you can
swing a lighter frame with more velocity.
So, designers must decide how to balance the
need for velocity with the need for mass to
create the most efficient energy transfer to the
ball.

ACTIVE DAMPING SYSTEM

All racket frames generate Vibration. Aside from being unpleasant, vibration
promotes arm and hand fatigue resulting in a loss of power and precision.
With Kinetic System, as the ball leaves the frame, the microspheres within the
chambers become active dampeners, limiting the peak and duration of negative
vibration that masks “feel”.

A unique blend of treated Spiral Tech Fibers woven into a High Modulus Graphite PRODUCTION
matrix. This matrix reacts with Epoxy Resins in ways that maximize the
structural integrity of the racquet wall. The Spiral Tech process removes micro CONVENTIONAL
air pockets and impurities from between the carbon layers to create a totally GRAPHITE

Pro Kennex has developed a ‘next generation’ Spiral Tech Carbon which utilizes
a different molecular structure which allows for a superior bond to the new
generations of Nano Epoxy Resin systems. The new Spiral Tech formulation has

QUAD FOCUS

The Quadfocus system rethinks the application of Newtonian physics by
componentizing the Energy Chambers and moves them to the Four Corners of
the frame. This relocates chambers away from the most stable area of the frame
to the most vulnerable, focusing the energy more efficiently. Because the Kinetic
Technology is a sensitive timing mechanism (like the pistons in an engine), the
Quadfocus design allows us to custom load the chambers based on location. Tip
Speed is much faster than Hip Speed. This function has unleashed a sweet spot like
no other. A virtual square vs the normal oval shape found in conventional, mono
mass systems. The cornered expansion gives the player enormous advantage as the
ball strike moves away from the sweet spot, particularly the 10-2 positions.

Integrated into each handle is a custom chamber filled with inelastic micro spheres.
When frame oscillations reach these spheres, they absorb the vibration through
