ท�าให้บริเวณแหงน้ีแยกออกเป็นลักษณะทางสามแพรง จึงตั้งชื่อตามพระนาม
ของวังวา แพรง ภูธร แพรง นรา และแพรงสรรพศาสตร

Later, during the era of King Rama V, a road was built
connecting Asdang and Tanao Roads, making the area a
three-way fork. The roads were then named after
the palaces-Phraeng Puthorn, Phraeng Nara
and Phraeng Sanphasat.

Phraeng Sanphasat is situated at Tanao Road intersection with Asdang Road. Two fires
broke out in the area, damaging the architecture. What remains is the Sanphasat Gate (arch dome)
as a remnant of the blend of European and Thai style. A Greek goddess holding a torch is placed

on the gate, which is made with bricks and logs and a large opening at the arc, with
colorful half-circle glass decorations. On the side of the gate structure, there is also
an inscription on its history, so that passersby can acquire information
about the site.

ต้ังอยู่ระหว่างวัดสุทัศน์กับวัดมหรรณพาราม เดิมคือวังวรวรรณ
ของพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอกรมพระนราธิปประพันธ์พงศ์ใช้เป็นท่ีประทับ
และทรงโปรดฯ ให้สร้างโรงละครปรีดำลัยขึ้น ถือได้ว่าเป็นโรงมหรสพ
แห่งแรกของไทย และทรงจัดต้ังคณะละครนฤมิตขึ้น ต่อมารัชกาลที่ 5
ทรงพระราชทานช่ือให้ใหม่ว่า ละครหลวงนฤมิตร ต่อมาวังถูกรื้อเหลือ
เพียงบางส่วน ส่วนโรงละครถูกท�าเป็นโรงเรียนตะละภัฏศึกษา ปัจจุบัน
วงั วรรวรรณถกู ปลอ่ ยรา้ งและอยใู่ นความดแู ลของสา� นกั งานทรพั ยส์ นิ
พระมหากษัตริย์ ซ่ึงได้รับการขึ้นทะเบียนเป็นโบราณสถาน

Phraeng Nara is situated between
Wat Suthas and Wat Mahanparam, and
originally Wonrawan Palace of Prince
Narathip Bhongprapan used as a
residence. The Prince built the Preedalai
Theatre there as the first opera house
in the Kingdom. The Narumit play was
performed here, and later during the
reign of King Rama V, the Prince renamed
the play as Royal Narumit Play. The
palace was eventually demolished,
leaving only some original parts
remaining. The theatre was converted
into Talaphat Suksa School. At present
the Wonrawan Palace is deserted
and under the care of the Crown
Property Bureau, and registered as an
archeological site in Bangkok.

Situated on the banks of Chao Phraya River close to Wat Kalaynamitr, this shrine is of Chinese Hokkien
origin. The architecture is from Qing-era China and built with bricks and mortar mixed with wood. It is
decorated with mortar figurines and carved wooded pieces, while its interior walls depict the epic story of the
Three Kingdoms. The history of this shrine is unclear, but it is said that the Chinese attached to King Taksin built
the shrine. The shrine received the Excellent Architectural Preservation Award in 2008.

This Roman Catholic Christian church was built since the Thonburi era. The church has an Italian-Neo
classic design mixed with Renaissance, and is built in cream and red color. Its highlight is a dome tower
decorated with a wooden cross on top and the walls are adorned with mirrors. This church is an important
religious establishment and the center of spiritual strength for Christians in this area for centuries.
