Abstract
This qualitative research study was conducted by a vast data collection
concerning the methodology, cultural background, ritual ceremony meaning of paying
homage and respect to music teachers. The origin of ceremony started with the
great gratitude feeling toward teachers whom all Thais are always respect. Teachers
in this study are listed in four specific groups. They are among the Hindu gods,
unseen spirits, hermits and human teachers which included the passed away and
the today living teachers. The ceremony is commonly done on Thursday (Teacher s
day). Ceremonies are widely involved with old Thai customs, traditions, religion and
some crossed cultural belief between the Indian and Thai. The person who performs
the ritual ceremony must be one who had received the Aung-karn (Declaration of
Devine s Sermon) that passed from senior teachers of old time to present.
Arranging of the ceremonial halls begins with setting of two separate altars at
high level in the hall, a small one on the right for Lord Buddha and the big one on
the left for teachers. This included the head-dresses of music gods, head figures of
hermits, demons (giant) and the old photos of the dead teachers. Several music
instruments are also set on the altar lower from the teachers head-dresses. At the
