The fetal doppler does not replace a healthcare practitioner.
It is meant to provide reassurance between check-ups.

Using lots of Aquasonic Clear
Transmission Gel helps reduce static.
Don't rub into belly like a moisturizer.
Instead apply two dollops directly on belly

and use the probe to spread it.

START LOW, GO SLOW

Start by placing the the probe on your PUBIC BONE
pubic bone. It's a large hard bone right in
front of your bladder in the middle of your
abdomen. To detect the heartbeat, work
your way up in a rocking motion, be sure
to go slow. Don't press down on the
probe. Gently angling is the best method.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Detecting a sound doesn't mean you've found
the heartbeat. It could be sound within the
placenta or your own arteries.
60 -80 BPM - most likely your heartbeat

120 -180 BPM* - most likely the baby's heartbeat.
*Caffeine, alcohol, nicotine may raise the heartbeat.
A fetal heartbeat may sound like a horse galloping.

A "whooshing" sound usually indicates you've
detected placenta or other movement.

MODE 1 - REAL-TIME FHR DISPLAY

At the moment of detecting Fetal Heart
Rate signal, the LCD will display the

flashing heart symbol, and display real-
time FHR simultaneously

MODE 2 - AVERAGE FHR DISPLAY

Used to obtain a more stable heart rate
reading. In this mode the FHR is averaged
at 8 beats. The LCD displays the flashing

heart symbol when displaying the FHR.

MODE 3 - MANUAL MODE

The system will automatically count the
audible beats. Press the blacklight button
to stop calculating. The unit will calculate

the derived FHR averaged over the
calculating time and display the result.
